We found this place on accident. We liked it so much after dining here several times, that we had our wedding reception at the restaurant. It was amazing. They did a fantastic job. If you are in the area, its worth a stop.
I had lunch here recently and was very impressed! Their location by the river is a very peaceful spot for a meal outdoors. The heirloom tomato salad was especially delicious, the plums and almond cheese made it flavorful while still being a healthy choice. The manager even sat with me for a bit and explained their future plans, sounds like there will be more good things coming soon. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!
Finally, an organic cafe and restaurant in Big Sur! The space in itself is so beautifully designed. And the food, AMAZING! The owner drives all the way to Monterey's farmers markets just to get fresh and locally grown ingredients. Wish we found it sooner versus on the last day of our trip bc I would have come here every day if so. We got the smoothie bowl (pictured) and the adaptogenic latte! The whole menu looks incredible and I can't wait to visit again.
This is one of those special places that you wish you could keep all to yourself. Imagine if a few of your favorite people opened a beautiful and welcoming place where you could enjoy a delicious, expertly prepared and responsibly sourced meal or snack along with an intriguing glass of wine or carefully selected craft beer. Now imagine that place was in the magnificent rustic setting of Big Sur adjacent to the Big Sur river. Now go there before everyone else finds out about it.
You will want to eat everything again and again. One of a kind in Big Sur and maybe all of Monterey County. Organic ingredients and the vegan cheese are insanely good, this coming from a person who loves real cheese. I’ll be back.
Love this place!. I have been going once a week for the last month because I can’t get enough of their amazing menu. Great vegan/vegetarian options that’s unlike anywhere in the area. The vegan grilled cheese is by far my favorite dish! Cool wine and beer list as well. The interior design is also so beautiful giving a new twist on the Big Sur style. They also have yoga which is so awesome. You can enjoy a yoga class with great food after and then dip your toes in the fresh river. Highly recommend!

My partner and myself are HUGE fans of Big Sur and spend a lot of time with friends who live in Big Sur full time. We absolutely love The Village and think it's an awesome addition to the community. Being a self proclaimed foodie I am highly impressed by their entire menu - both food and drink. I haven't tasted anything that I didn't like but my personal favorites are their elevated matcha drink and their (vegan) grilled cheese and tomato soup. My partner's favorite is the (vegan) cheese plate that is served on their dinner menu. Please note that we are not vegan and don't seek out vegan cuisine. It's just that good. The staff is so knowledgeable and friendly and make you feel like your guests in their home. And if delicious, organic cuisine isn't enough to convince you to stop in, the entire space is absolutely stunning. The esthetic is bright, clean, unique and curated incredibly well.
