Had an awful experience at this McDonalds. They require a token to use the restroom. I had to ask three times for the token, so by the time I had the token my food was ready. In the five minutes I used the restroom, my food was stolen. I politely brought the issue up with the staff, and they were immediately adversarial. I don't know why they were so rude to me. This could have been avoided if the bathroom had a code on the receipt, or if the staff had been polite. I don't think I'm asking for much.

I had to rate this McDonald's five stars because it is sooo much better, in every way, than any in nearby Oakland. For some reason Oakland McDonald's restaurants are pretty horrible when compared to everywhere else. For whatever reason, Berkeley locations seem to be a huge step up, get your order right (why is this so difficult in Oakland) and are fast and friendly. Oh, they also can do coffee ((rolls eyes)).

Not only do homeless people inhabit the zone basically in front of the store, but why would you want to eat at McDonalds anyway? Like, the food is the worst quality food on the planet. Way worse than school lunch.

This had to be the most memorable and bizarre MCD experience ever. Our order came in a generic brown paper bag and a white styrofoam box. I have never eaten at an McD in the world that didn’t have its branded packaging. Something about it just weirded me out, and it tasted off. I would get it if it’s covid-related or supply shortage; they should at least mention it upon ordering.

Tried to get food at 10:20pm a couple night ago. Doors were locked and cashier said they were closed even though there were customers waiting inside.
Our last few purchases at this location we weee given the wrong change, even though the change amount was shown. You guys need to hire right.

To respond to so.eones review earlier. I am blind and completely understood, NO EATING IN THE DINING ROOM. HELLO COVID. ASSUME THAT BEFORE THE OTHER. BUT Can McDonalds Staff do something about the bums and beggers in the lobby??

The employees are polite, although I always go in the early AM as soon as they're open. Be mindful of some of the homeless and addicts that come in sometimes because some of them have given the employees an unnecessary hard time making the process of other patrons trying to order their meals much longer.
