Nice clean, a comfort place to hang out. A cappuccino and baklava start a day. Sweet owner and dog friendly cafe. Berkeley proud !

Perfect local spot for a relaxed breakfast. Service can be spotty but always warm. Lots of new foodie competition makes it seem half empty at times but makes seating easier. Simple menu of basic breakfast items, I often bring out of town visitors and all feel well fed.

Love the oatmeal. Not a very large portion but the fruit is always fresh and excellent and the wait staff in the mornings are very nice. It is often not crowded on weekdays if you are hoping to take up time on a table for a little while. Will return.

Friendly proprietors and good food in a warm atmosphere. Coffee is just right not too dark, not too light. Affordable options for a snack or meal with some tasty specialties. Very easy vibe to the place...very roomy and comfortable sit down location and parking is easy to find.

Just had coffee and baklava with a friend, we both loved our pastries. Service was delightful and thorough. Atmosphere was comfy and casual, spacious.

When this was the Westside Bakery Cafe, this place was PACKED on the weekends; on a recent Sunday only 3 tables were occupied. And it's cafe style order at the counter with a simpler menu. The provender was fine, and the service prompt and kind, and it's still a nice space, just a hell of a lot quieter than it used to be.

Great new option for breakfast with the family. The interior is warm and friendly. Good selection of typical breakfast foods. We look forward to visiting on a Sunday with our kids.

After thirty years, Janice sold the cafe to another woman, Sophia.
The menu is new but Sophia has retained the focus on healthy, delicious meals in a cozy atmosphere.
The Westside serves the bustling professional and technical businesses that make up West Berkeley. But it also pulls in lots of visitors to the neighborhood as well.
Parking on the street is limited, but it is NOT subject to ticketing like so many other spots in Berkeley.
And the Number 79 bus stops a block away.
But for me the kicker is the fastest WiFi service of any other public place in town.
