Miyuki Japanese Restaurant

Came in with my boyfriend last week, and I must say it was the BEST SUSHI I EVER HAD. Yes, Miyuki has good quality sushi, but what makes this place better than others is the experience. We sat at the sushi bar, and Bob the chef was amazing. You could tell he was passionate about what he did. Normally, we stick with simple rolls, but this time we trusted our chef and let him decide our meal. We started with a sashimi dinner, a chef's special hand roll each and even tried UNI! The food was delicious, experience was great and the prices were reasonable. You can always go to any sushi restaurant and get really good sushi, but getting an A+ experience with great sushi to me is only found here at Miyuki with Bob. My boyfriend and I definitely found our new favorite sushi spot.

I have been eating at Miyuki for over 20 years. It is my husband's favorite restaurant. We eat there at least once a month and brings friends there also. I buy $300 of gift certificates every year. Well. last night I am told that the gift certificates that I purchased last year are no longer valid as the restaurant is under new management. I wanted to combine a $20 certificate with a $50 certificate purchased December 24, 2012. I so still have $60 of certificates that are no longer valid. I have never seen any nofication in the restaurant informing customers that it is now under new management and this new management is willing to lose a long time customer for $20. So.....I guess I won't be eating at Miyuki anymore.

This place is now called Akemi. We went there for lunch on Saturday and ordered a roll, some tonkasu and a ramen bowl. Quality of the food was good, especially the ramen. The sake list was impressive, though we did not try any. Service was a mixed bag. Very friendly, but on that day at least kind of slow. Hence the three stars.

I would have given them a 4 star rating before the new management took over.They made the best tempura shrimp in this area, now its not the same that full crunch is not there. My sisters and I would go there at least once a week, we have not been back for approximately 3 months...not missing this place at all!
