Popcorn bite chicken is not Karaage. It is soft fried mass. I don’t know what is this. I really don’t like this. Where is my chicken meat? Most of fries are flour. California roll was good.

Great variety of sushi at great prices! I haven't tried much but I can tell you everything so far has been delicious. And the staff are very courteous as well.

For the plant-based: My partner and I are vegetarian. We rarely eat at non-vegan Sushi spots because there are great vegan sushi restaurants. But when we saw they had avocado cucumber rolls for 3.99 we had to check it out! They even gave us the option to add mushroom to our rolls! I definitely recommend the cucumber avocado roll with mushroom added!

RIP Tako Sushi. Been seeing if they would open again the past few weeks but seems they are permanently closed. Phone is disconnected and website is down. They have been IMHO the best sushi place in town for 15+ years. Very sad to see them go and that I’ll never get another Baja roll. They should honestly bottle and sell their spicy mayo—it was legit. Thanks for everything Tako staff!

We got a to go order from here. We got the number 60 which I believe was called Teriyaki Crunch. It was a tempura style roll with chicken teriyaki and avocado. We also got an order of miso soup. While here staff were courteous and told us to take a seat while we waited for our order. There was a little bit of a wait as there were a lot of to go orders called in before ours but I do believe the food made the wait worth it.
I tried the miso soup first and it was unlike any other miso soup I have ever had. Most restaurants have a tendency to dilute their soup so it is weak in flavor; this restaurant does not dilute their broth. It was enjoyable to eat this soup.
First bite of the sushi and WOW! The sushi here is bursting in flavor. It’s like a party in your mouth. The flavors are very pleasant on the palate. I would definitely order the roll I had again. I love the crispness of it; it has a nice texture.
I’ve only tried one roll here, but I can’t wait to go back and try others.

First time ordering..and I googled up "sushi berkeley" and wanted reasonably priced yet tasty. I ordered two chicken bento with California and a specialty roll all for $42. (Dinner)
Portions are generous and my daughter who is picky about her California Roll, said "This place is good" That is a seal of approval.
While cosmetically the place is not appealing compared to other sushi restaurants, I was seeking cheap. Tasty. And I received what I wanted.
The prices are extremely good for the quality, service and demographics for the area.
Highly recommended!

A local sushi place to eat at Berkeley. I got their popcorn chicken and some of their roll. Solid food. Place feels very empty and void. Server was pretty nice

The sushi was just what we needed after a long morning of hiking. The soup is very tasty with the perfect amount of salt and miss. The nigiri was fresh and the rolls were well filled with very thick rice.
