Best proper tea in Oakland. Can do I sweet and doesn’t burn the leaves, and super nice! Hard to find place with tea done right

Really cute place with an upstairs and downstairs seating area. A wide variety of tea and their banh mi sandwiches are amazing! The upstairs seating makes it feel like you’re not in the states.

This place is so good I'm actually wary of reviewing it because I want it to be successful, but not become over crowded so I can't get a table to study. Highlights are the proprietor (who is lovely), the green mango smoothie, and the cuppa tea salad (a crunchy cabbage situation with limey dressing and fresh mint)

Nice tea spot, with an upstairs section in the back where one can hide out from the world and study, or bring a date, really nice staff, with a very Breezy vibe, another one of the great Elmwood establishments that work synergistically together because you can go here before or after a movie, or get a small meal here, and maybe study for a couple of hours. One of my favorite hideouts

The best selection of hot and iced teas I’ve seen in town- also, the owner is incredibly thoughtful and offers helpful suggestions and recommendations!

The owner is such a nice lady and the cafe is so cozy! I love studying here as there is a lot of charging outlets and free, reliable wifi! It's such a relaxing environment! The boba is pretty bad and expensive (hence 4 stars instead of 5) but everything else I've had I've been happy with!

Lots of study room, strong wifi, plenty of outlets, and very light music. Great place for working! Plus they have boba and a huge selection of teas.

A ’Cuppa Tea  2992 College Ave./Ashby Ave., Elmwood, (510) 848-2032.  Duck into this peaceful place to relax in a comfy overstuffed armchair while you sip a cup of tea from the extensive selection.  I chose a boba milk tea, made from scratch with top notch black tea mixed with real coconut chunks (the owner showed me how it is especially stored).  Because I am sensitive to caffeine and was concerned about imbibing boba tea after noon, I was pleased to find out that next time I can order a decaffeinated Earl Grey milk tea and so will be able to drink it at any hour.  (Boba tea is made with a bottom layer of large tapioca balls that you suck up through an oversize straw.)   Hot teas, coffees, and more are among the other drink options.  Considering how small this place is and that it is a mom and pop business with no other help, a good-sized breakfast--think breakfast burrito or berry scone--and lunch menu is available.  I ordered the lunch special rice bowl, which consisted of some tasty chicken and stir-fried veggies.  I hear the Thai iced tea and beef noodle soup are also very good.  Extra seating is available on a second floor.

Don't Go There!. I came to this place this evening with a friend of mine his wife and their toddler, we ordered $21.0 worth of beverages and cookies /brownies and the like, though we thought that everything was a bit overpriced, we were very interested in their variety of teas and asked some questions. The young Asian lady behind the counter, who had a very thick foreign accent, clearly had a nasty attitude towards me being the black person among the bunch. My company noticed it too and said that while she was nice and amiable to them (My friends are white) it was clearly obvious that this young lady had some racist attitude towards me. For the sake of the good company I was with at the time and the fact that we had a young child with us; I let it slip-by without having said anything that may have lead to an escalation of events that may have caused a scene. However, we decided that none of us will go back to this place, nor will we recommend it to anyone. Despite the handsome decorative effects, his place is also DIRTY!! Too bad there exists in America today businesses that you aim to give support to as a customer, and in return you get an unwelcoming attitude merely because of the color of your skin. Such is "A Cuppa' Tea" coffee shop in Berkeley, California.
