Super friendly staff. Great pizza!!!
Google
Pros:
- UNLIMITED toppings
- fairly large portion for price
Cons:
- when the line is more than 8 people long, expect it to take a while
Bottom line: I recommend going just once. I'm not sure whether I'd go back, but the food was tasty
Note: don't just throw on every topping in sight-- try to follow a theme. Otherwise, your pizza might taste a little overwhelming.

Unlimited toppings on a personalized pizza, all for an affordable price! Reminded me of chipotle.
This is a new concept for me, so I was excited to try it. The line went fairly quick, and I just picked out all the toppings I wanted. It didn't take that long to get our order, but there had been a mix up of the sauces on both of our pizzas, so they gave us 2 coupons for a free pizza. That's awesome customer service!!
Pizza's were pretty good size, I could only eat about half and took the rest home for dinner.
Flavors were good. The ingredients are bite sized and there's plenty of options.

I love this place! Modeled after Chipotle you start with your pie crust and choose all your toppings and sauce. I love how you can see your toppings before choosing it. The crust is really thin and crisp which I like but that is a personal choice. Pizza comes out from the oven pretty quickly so the only wait is if there is a long line from people making their pizzas. Lines used to be pretty short but lately it seems the Cal students have discovered this place and are coming in in packs.

Long wait, badly managed prep stations with only a single guy on toppings and a spacey cashier. The pizza itself was poorly constructed with all the toppings heaped in the center. The all-concrete acoustics were awful. Those of us who ordered thin crust got regular crust, and vice versa. The ingredients tasted good but that is the only good thing I can say about this place.

Cool idea, I guess, to let you see them assemble pizza and toss it oven as you pay. This place falls apart in service though. My wife aptly described it as "Subway for pizza," which is great if you like Subway (I do not). "For here or to go?" the register person asked us without looking up from her machine. No, "Hi," "Hello," or, "Greetings Fellow Human." There's no time for manners at Pieology.
All this said, the pizza is great.

The food was good for the price, but it was possibly the worse service I've received in the area. The girl who brouhhty food out was smacking chewing gum during my entire visit and she essentially threw my pizza down on the table and didn't bother to apologize or even say you're welcome after she was thanked. No to mention, her hair was not in a hat or pulled back and she was fiddling with I it between serving food. The cashier's hands were very dirty and he had on a Dirty arm cast. My receipt was placed on top of my pizza to absorb grease I suppose. I saw one employee lick her fingers behind the counter. Lastly, the girl who made my pizza either started working there the day before or just didn't have a clue. I'm not a Germaphobe but this place didn't sit well with me.

I've tried almost, if I'm not mistaken, all customizable pizza places there is to try in the Easy Bay. Each individual place has their own pros and cons; for Pieology I have to give it the best I'm-on-a-budget-and-craving-a-pizza-with-loads-of-toppings-customizable pizza place. The location kind of sucks when you're driving a car because of the limited parking plus paying for parking before 6pm (after 6pm it's free). Thank goodness I went when it was after 6 and when I walked through the doors of Pieology there was a line of two people; I was so hungry. Went to the beginning of making my pizza and the girl greeted me and my friend.
She started with my pizza first, as she was putting on the cheese it looked as though she was being frugal and then when I asked for extra she lightly sprinkled. I like my pizza how I tell my jokes. . . cheesy. (Sorry! Couldn't help it.) I did not ask for more because asking for a second time would have made me sound like a fatty. For the rest of the time I added as much toppings to make my pizza look reasonably topped: I added spinach, olives, mushrooms, ricotta cheese meatball, and chicken. The total came out to $8.21 and I was a happy camper after. The pizza came out quickly; I have to say it looked pretty good.
The pizza did not look burnt at all, the crust was evenly browned, the cheese was oozing, and I was ready to chow down. The ingredients tasted fresh, a plus, and for all the ingredients they provide it was nice to taste the high quality of the ingredients. After devouring my concoction I was full and my pizza craving was satiated. . . for now.
Pieology can be pricey but for what it's worth, it's worth trying out and I have to give it to them that they have a decent array of toppings to choose from (it's a plus they have ricotta cheese, pointing out and all). Plus the size of the pizza also covers the cost you pay.
I discovered Pieology when I was in SoCal and I was worried when I saw this one up here because it wouldn't reach how awesome it is down south. Pieology in Berkeley laid my worries to rest, still it's not as awesome as SoCal's, but I can say it comes pretty close.
