I'm stumped as to what to post here. When the service is good, this place is excellent. But the service is spotty at best. The owner, who also owns a Chinese restaurant in New Prov, can't seem to keep her staff. I think she supplements O Porto with the cooks from the Chinese restaurant. Sometimes orders are incorrect. Sometimes it takes multiple calls before someone answers the phone. It's truly a shame because the food is the best Portuguese BBQ in the area. The owner needs to spend more time running this restaurant and focusing on the staff so there is constant service and quality. If that happens, I'd raise my review to 4-stars.

Ordered a chicken and ribs lunch combo as a timed delivery at 11:00am to be delivered at 12:00pm for my lunch break. At 12:15pm no one had arrived so I called and the woman told me the order would be there soon and rushed me off the phone. At 12:50pm I called again; the woman literally picked up the phone and said "I told you he'd be there soon" and hung up before I could even get a word in. At this point I given up on lunch, then at 1:15 pm the delivery boy finally arrived. The chicken was mostly dry but of decent quality, the ribs were what you'd expect to find at a rest stop buffet (over cooked, tasteless, and minimal meet), and the rice wasn't anything short of Goya mixed into white rice the night before; not mention the entire meal was barely warm. To add the cherry on top the place was 9 minutes away on google maps. With overall quality of the food combined with 1 hour plus delay in arrival and faulty service this was a horrible experience and I will never give Oporto my business again. I do not know if the experience is different if you dine in but I recommend you do not get delivery under any circumstance.

Tried to order from them twice: once by phone (they hung up on me twice), once in person, only to be ignored by the lone woman who was walking back and forth, absorbed into a phone conversation that was way more important to her than my business. I left after ~15 minutes, and based on the reviews of others, glad I did so. I can't believe they are still in business after all these years...

They are not as good as they use to be. The salmon steak is split in half instead of the whole piece given to you before. They must be under new management. I dont see the normal crowd that use to flood the establishment. I'm disappointed and will not be returning.

Ordered the paella, on the menu it says "Chicken, shrimp, and chorizo." What it actually was, was shrimp and mussels with rice. No chicken or chorizo at all. Two stars, one for rice and one for shrimp. Editing the review, called and spoke with the owner and he is offering me a refund or the right entree. I appreciate his willingness to make things right so updated to 4 stars.

Good fast and affordable. If there is no street parking, park in the dominoes parking lot. There is always plenty of space. We usually get the rice and black beans (side). Huge portion and tastes great.

Probably one of the Worst places to eat in Berkeley heights nj. Only one guy speaks English there, and he's almost never there, the guy who cooks the food REFUSES to not overcook anything on the menu. I had to argue with the guy that the ALREADY BURNT food was well past done, and he insisted that it needed 20 MORE MINUTES! They cant even understand the word shrimp. I had to grab a menu and point to the word, when I realized he could tread English either. He started cooking a piece of chicken, and I had to essentially go around the counter and point to the shrimp. Zero stars
