Big Steve's Bagels

How did I not know this place was there? It is fantastic. I ordered the Big Steve Bagel (bacon, sausage, eggs, cheese, potatoes + more) It was so good, I went back the next day ordered the same thing to make sure it was as good as I thought it was. It was. Be sure to take a number for service if there are other people there. The area is small and it can be a little confusing. This is in McGee's Crossroad, very close to the I-40/210 exit. I sure wish they would put one in West Smithfield. It was very yummy. They do close early, so plan to go before 2pm.

If you love NY style bagels, you must try out Big Steve's Bagels!! We absolutely love this place. Pictured here is the Bacon, Egg, Cheese, and Sausage toasted on an Everything Bagel, Strawberry Bagel with Strawberry Cream Cheese, and Blueberry Bagel with Blueberry Cream Cheese (my personal favorite!). This felt like a true NY deli that I've been missing for the last year, so it was a great find! There is seating inside if you want to stay, but we got it to-go. Staff was SUPER nice and very welcoming! Can't wait to go back!

I've been wanting to try the bagels, but even though they open at 6, I'm usually in too big of a hurry to stop on my way to work. This morning I finally made it. The location is very easy to get to, just west I-40 off of exit 319. The place was very busy, with several people standing in line . Since it was past 9 a.m. some of the bagel selections were running low. There were still lots of options including some pastries. The seating area was full of people eating food ordered from the breakfast menu. It all looked and smelled really good. I took home a baker's dozen of bagels and a half pound of regular cream cheese for under $12. The Cinnamon Bagel was nicely sweet but not overly so. A toasted Egg Everything Bagel went really well with fresh-picked tomatoes from our garden. So nice to have fresh bagels. Hoping to try their lunch menu in the future.

This was my first time at Big Steve’s Bagels and I will be going back. Seemingly there’s quite an extensive menu and a nice variety of bagels. I think I’ll have to pick up a few to go the next time I’m in. The sausage, egg, and cheese on a toasted everything bagel was delicious. The muffins look amazing too. I can thoroughly appreciate that you can get an actual cup of coffee instead of a thimble full. The staff were hustling but very kind, courteous, and attentive for a busy Sunday morning. I can see why this place would probably be busy from opening to close. They aren’t shy about the cream cheese so if you’re not a fan of a lot of it, maybe ask for light cream cheese. The prices are great too. There aren’t many places where 2 people can eat breakfast for $10 and it’s not laden with grease. I am a fan of the hours of operation as not many places nearby are open before 8am on a Sunday morning around here and Big Steve’s is a great option. I’ll definitely be making a return trip - I’ve got to try their lunch options and a Dutch apple bagel.
