We did their pre order thanksgiving meal. It was the first time we tried this for the holiday. It was delicious, the turkey was cooked perfectly and all the sides were hot. We will 100% be doing this again next year if they offer this service. It’s worth the money honestly probably more then what they charged to have the extra time to be able to relax more around this time of year with how busy life gets. And with the head cook in our family getting older it’s hard for her to spend all that time preparing everything even with help. I highly recommend anyone out there trying to make thanksgiving easier get your turkey and sides from them, they had it all plus add on options. We also eat there regularly b/c basically everything they make is amazing! Especially their burnt ends 🤤 . My family and I just wanted to say thank you to all the people that worked this morning and I’m sure last night so we could have a wonderful meal. We appreciate your service and delicious food!

Staff were amazing and the food was delicious. All of the sauces are sweeter than I expected. I typically enjoy a little more spice at least as an option. Meat was cooked well and sides were yummy. Definitely something to try in the area that isn’t just another style of pork.

Awesome place! Brisket Burnt Ends Oh My! Everything and Everyone here is so very kind and accommodating from start to finish! Great job and keep getting those trophies! Potato Salad, Mac & Cheese has a kick to it was recommended Green Beans and Collards for sides are just fine! Yummy in my tummy! The sauce on the tables are the way to go! POP Mustard 👌 super 😋

A truly exceptional experience. High quality brisket (comparable to Texas), healthy size portions, and perhaps the kindest, friendliest man tending to refills and conversation in the dining area.

We stop here every single time we travel back and forth on I-40. The food is sooo delicious!!!
This past time we got the Hen House - pulled pork, quartered chicken, 4 pieces of cornbread, collards and jalapeno mac n cheese. And of course we got another side of the magical baked beans with the most amazing smoked flavor I've ever tasted! 2 orders of banana pudding and 2 ramekins each of the sauces, and we were ready to go home and enjoy the best dinner ever. *With TONS of leftovers that are just as good reheated*
Best bbq joint I've found, including several ones in Lexington I've tried, hands down. Everything is just so tasty and well cooked here!
Bonus is the friendly, attentive staff!

Attached to a gas station so parking wasn't easy. Friendly staff that explained their menu selections. I got the fat redneck, it had pulled pork and sliced brisket. The meat was very good and there was plenty of it. I was not a fan of the BBQ potatoes and would get something different next visit. Their sauces were good and I preferred the pepper flavored one. The dining area could use a good cleaning.

8/4/2023: It's heard to pass this place without stopping any time I go between Wilmington and Raleigh... I wish I had a punch card because we've been here frequently and never disappoints!! Even switching to a low carb diet, the pulled pork and brisket are amazing!!
From 5 years ago: We were going from Wilmington to Raleigh and knew we were going near this place so decided to wait and eat dinner at the sauce labs! The burnt ends (brisket) were amazing and the brisket mac and cheese was to-die for! The collards were on-point and the smoked Turkey was nice and juicy! I was stuffed but couldn't stop and cleaned my wife's plate too!

Best BBQ I've had since my childhood friend's dad owned a BBQ restaurant and hog farm. This place is excellent! Well run! Great sides! Fantastic service! Seriously worth the trip from Raleigh!

I moved to Raleigh a couple months ago. Coincidentally this was where I stopped for lunch on my drive in. The food was fantastic. I found myself in the area yesterday and knew that was where I was having lunch. Once again, the food was amazing. But even better was the service. It was fine the first time but yesterday it was remarkable. Just really nice people going out of their way to make sure everything was just right.

I love a successful small NC business cause I owned one, and have been following the Lab on Facebook. Hubs and I stopped at midday on Saturday and decided to eat in. Counter service ran at a pace that did not overload the kitchen and we got our food quickly. If not for the brisket my Texas husband and son smoke, this would have been the best I ever ate. Turkey, potato salad and collards were terrific. Decor is interesting and I loved reading all the awards this place has won. Great job.
