Skoogy's Deli

This review is ONLY for the new Skoogy’s Deli!! I have been to this new version several times now, as my mother lives in Belvidere, and I can honestly say I am extremely happy with everything I have gotten from there. I’ve ordered hot food, bought cold drinks, and explored their variety of snacks. I can confidently say that everything was good, and I thoroughly enjoyed the mozzarella sticks and mini corn dogs. They have a fantastic selection of beverages, and I am thrilled that they stock the often neglected Orangina. There variety of sweet snacks and salty snacks is thorough and they have some different things to try as well. The reason I wrote this review, is because I was most impressed by two things. The friendly service, and the extremely fair prices! Everything there is priced lower than I was expecting. Every staff member that I have interacted with thus far has been super kind, friendly, smiling. All good things! This is why I keep returning there, and would honestly recommend them to anyone while they’re in Belvidere.

Horrible over priced coffee. Rude staff. Go to Quik Check, they at least give back to the communities not just their own pockets. Update!!! New owner and entire new store inside! No longer owned by the previous money grubbing Skoogs. The new owner cares about the community not just his wallet! Great sandwiches and good coffee now!

The food is great, but the price is atrociously high. The people that go in there are the most xenophobic people that you will ever meet on the east coast. The atmosphere: aesthetically speaking, it is quaint, homey, and welcoming... ...As far as the people, it is blisteringly uncomfortable, and often times the trashy locals will look at you with contempt, as if they mean to tell you to get the hell out of their town.

I will give this a skoogy's a four-star review. It is not as good as the downtown skoogy's but it will definitely suffice. The staff is friendly and they have a more wine selection on sandwiches and subs and they do the downtown skoogy's. Either way a skoogy's is a skoogy's so I would definitely recommend stopping in and paying them a visit and grabbing one of their awesome signature Subs.
