Breakfast Nook

Just so we're clear, this isn't biscuits and gravy. Somehow, this traditionally southern breakfast got a South American twist and the results, horrid. My wife ordered waffles with strawberries. Ok waffle but the strawberries were still half frozen. The waitress was pleasant and apologized that we weren't happy with our breakfast yet offered no discount.

Inedible food! We waited over a half hour for food with an elderly family member. Two of us had the same plate and both had a disgusting amount of pepper in it. Could only eat two bites and had to ask for more drinks as the waitress wasn’t paying attention. When telling her she only said I’ll let them know… No apology or offer to order something else to eat. She could’ve cared less as if it was happening all day. Heard other customers complaining and leaving with mostly full plates of food. Other reviews here stated when leaving a bad Google review they were approached by the owner at their next visit demanding the review be taken down before service was provided. I will never eat here again.

As far as the decor and atmosphere, this Bellingham breakfast place doesn’t go out of it’s way to set itself apart. Being an established favorite with locals, this greasy spoon always has a steady flow even in the face of COVID. The entire staff is laid back, unpretentious, and friendly and they seem to understand the delicate balance between being attentive and being obnoxious. The food is well prepared and they haven’t missed a single of the special requests I always have. An excellent local gem!

I love this little café because it’s so cozy and the service and food never disappoint. I highly recommend the pumpkin bread French toast if you want something original- and it’s available year round! The home fries are some of the best I’ve had and the waitresses are always so sweet and take good care of you. Come here if you like a cozy, quiet place to enjoy brunch with family or friends. Or if you’re a lone rider, have a seat at the counter and they’ll take just as good care of you!
