Nice atmosphere. No imported German beers - disappointing. Food is incredibly expensive and the portions are small for the price. I got two vegan sausages, potatoes, and sauerkraut- about $20 worth. The sauerkraut was not good. Look at how small it is. Ridiculous. Not worth the money for the food, come only for drinks (which are also expensive). They forgot to inform us that one of our foods was out, so they subbed it with a pretzel for free. That was nice.

Very efficient food/drink ordering, beer is usually ready before you finish paying. Atmosphere is covered outdoors picnic tables, fortunately with ample infrared heating. Beer selection challenging . Food is variations of sausage with potatoes or pretzel.

A super cool idea developed to completion. I wasn't sold on the German beer garden thing until I actually experienced it. The amazing staff, good beer, and tasty food won me over. Plus there was live entertainment. I will definitely go back

Great selection of on tap lagers, ales, etc. We came during happy hour and got 1/2 off on a 0.5 liter each. They let us have our dog in the area. The sausages and pretzels were delicious, cooked over an open flame. There is a games area in the back.

I like this place a lot! It has a cool atmosphere and I really like the open feeling even though it is a mostly covered area. One thing I would suggest is the use of beepers instead of the numbers they currently use for delivering food to your table. The gal made a full lap around with my Chili before I noticed her and flagged her down. A beeper would solve this problem! Overall, I'll certainly return for more good food and beer

Limited selection of beer & not very cold. Food was acceptable, but not extraordinary. I accidentally chose table covered with dog hair. It's okay, but shouldn't be a planned destination. I was already in neighborhood & don't regret the visit.

Been a few times on our trips up from Seattle to Bellingham. Somehow we always end up here toward the end of our night. Certainly a college favorite, but great for all ages because they play the BEST hip hop from our generation late 80s, 90’s and beyond. Games are fun and music is bumping. We had not tired the food until last night and now we are hooked! Sausages- just like Bavaria! Salads- huge and fresh! Chili- always a good choice.

Vibes: summery, social, festive Tastiness rating: high Inspires cravings?: sometimes Haunted?: nah Be back soon?: probably Schwein strikes me as one of B'ham's more consistent establishments, wisely sticking to their straightforward limited-food-menu-taphouse formula. The beer selection rarely disappoints, I love having three sizes to choose from, and the food is simple and always done right (many bonus points for the pulled pork on salted pretzel buns!).When I visited last they held back-to-back cornhole and pong tournaments. I didn't participate, but the activities kept a happy buzz in the air.
