Spiced Restaurant

I have mixed feelings for this restaurant. It has some unique and authentic dishes from Sichuan province of China, like hot pepper beef/lamb. It also has a wide selection of appetizer combo which is rarely seen from other Chinese restaurant s in the area. However they have been kept raising price to the point now it becomes quite expensive. Hot pepper lamb is 18.99, and rice cost 1.5 extra per person, in very small quantity, which is very expensive considering you can get a lamb hotpot from Boiling Point, another Chinese restaurant nearby, for 14.35, rice and tea included for free. Prepare to pay 50 dollars or more for two entries plus rice for a meal.

Update: the chef is back! Tastes back to normal. Will come again. It USED to be my fav until around a week ago I found the dishes are absolutely not tasted as before. Today I visit here again and it’s still different. Anybody else has the same feeling? I won’t come back a month later to see if anything improves. Really sad.

I ate there twice. The food is ok. But I love their appetizers. They have a fridge full of selections by the register. Since I like the appetizers more than their food I just stop by and get take out (of appetizers) instead of dining in. For $8.75 a box you can pick up to 3 items. I haven't experienced a problem until last night a waitress packed it for me. Went home and opened the box, only half full. Major boo because I live far. Some of the comments mentioned the service is and issue for them, I think I understand why now. I won't stop going to this place but I will keep an eye on my food or pick my server from now on. I know that doesn't sound very nice, but you will understand when you go home with a half filled food order 🤦‍♀️

Permanently CLOSED 31 Oct 2019. Our work gang really enjoys Spiced for lunch. A broad menu with a range of preparations is popular for family-style lunches. It can be spicy, so choose carefully. I like the sauteed jalapeño peppers, so calibrate on spiciness. Quick attentive service. We go an average of once a week. Try the eggplant in garlic sauce and the fish dishes.
