Fat House

I was surprised to see that this was a hole in the wall joint. I was craving something for the big game and this place had all the fried fun you could want. I got the Gaga platter to share. The portion sizes are huge. Everything was cooked well. It could have used a little less fries and a little more of the tenders, onion rings or mozzarella sticks. Unfortunately when I got home the food was cold. So I'm assuming this place could hit the spot. I did try and rewarm it but it didn't have the same pizazz about it. I was hoping it would take me back to the fat sandwich days in college but it missed the mark. I may try again another day and update since i think this place has potential.

So, ordered a side of fries, corn bites, and a dessert called Baonanas. The fry portion was great but the fries are a miss in my opinion. They were fried yet oddly soft/soggy. They had absolutely no crunch even though they appear to have a coating of some sort. It's like it wanted to be hard at some point during the process, but went limp instead. They were $4.99. Not too expensive but not worth it. Very odd! The corn bites are DELICIOUS inside...but the outer shell is quite thick and either over cooked, or made in old oil (hence the deeper color) AND the shell, again, is a bit too thick. If they can just come up with a slightly thinner shell, that just might do it. But the inside was on point! I didn't even use the cheese added so I could enjoy the inner flavor. This too had no crunch. Just a weird thick shell to chew through. Priced at $7.99...was just too much. Then the banana pudding. I don't know where to start with this. The banana taste is there but not strong. There were no remnants of banana in the container. NONE! The wafers were complete mush...almost the exact consistency of the weird whipped filling. I won't say pudding because that definitely was NOT pudding! It's more like if cool whip and whipped cream had a baby. Very very very odd! That alone was a whopping $8.49 and absolutely NOT worth it! I'm glad I didn't venture out into their world of expensive subs. I'd really hate to not like those. I don't think I'll ever order from here again. Obviously, someone likes it by the look of their stars...but it isn't worth the money and the food is definitely off. Just not my cup of tea.
