Review Fisher's Restaurant - Bedford

Vanessa King
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our breakfast at Fishers Restaurant! Our waitress was friendly and welcoming and offered wonderful suggestions (which we chose for our meals) and was perfect with her balance of checking on us and refilling our glasses. We each got the breakfast platter with a French toast plate to share. Everything was delicious! The biscuits were amazing! We enjoyed the local friendly feel and the memorabilia hung on the walls. We’ll definitely be back!

The food was wonderful, homecooking made to order. Best pimiento Samich, was so delish we're taking one home for dad. The atmosphere was so welcoming, and the people made you feel like you are neighbor's. They even have tables where you can set outside out of any weather. Only bad thing is we were visiting and do not live close enough, because if so we would be regulars. Ps They deserve 10 stars.. and Castiel's mom thanks for the great conversation

Second time trying Fisher 2.0 out and I'm impressed. Consistent good service and great food. Worth the little extra it costs to go here as apposed to some of the other chain restaurants around.

Great local eatery! Southern-style down-home food with a little bit of artisan flair. A little pricier than you'd expect for strictly local specials. Fresh desserts every day; specials menu every day. Has counter, tables, and outside dining. Doesn't seem set up for large groups at all. Plenty of parking. BBQ is smoked on-site and very good. Friendly staff, good basic food. Breakfast and Lunch only; closes at 3. Very homey cozy atmosphere.

What a delightful find!! The BBQ was delicious, but the fried oysters were divine and the best we have ever had! And, not to be neglected - the chocolate pie....delicious!!! The waitress was such a sweet young lady and really knows how to treat her customers. We hope to visit again one day and enjoy a lovely meal at Fishers! Thank you! Edward & Susie

When Fisher's first reopened, it was amazing. The wait staff was super friendly, and the food was awesome. I do think, however some things are overpriced. The burgers and fries are good, but the portion of fries is very slim, honestly. My daughter and I went there today, and I wasn't very pleased with the service. People that came in after us were served before us, even though we ordered first. The food was awesome, but I really think the service needs a little improvement.

Got a to go order for my 1st visit. I got 2 very skinny & thin strips of ham half a cup of pintos & half cup of applesauce. I also ordered a slice of lemon chess pie that was so small you could eat it in one bite. For what little food I got I was charged close to $12.00. The corn bread was very good but was also very small. If you eat inside, you may get more food, but don't get plate lunch to go.

Thank you for the amazing lunch today. Also for being so fast and attentive to our large Scrappers softball group. Food was amazing and we definitely will be back when we’re in town again.

Love this little new found gem in Bedford city/town. The meatloaf is to die for.

Lisa, her staff and food are all terrific - great community gathering place, too!

Great spot for a simple, wholesome breakfast in a local institution dating from the '50s. The eggs were fresh and delicious, country ham is available, and the hash browns and cheese grits were out of this world. Breakfast is served all day.

What is not to like about great food, a super friendly staff, and an owner who can call you by name and even sit with you while you are having breakfast! This is a treasure in the state of VA!

approx 45 years ago i left the counter at fishers to go catch the bus that would end up eventually taking me to viet nam .i finally went back there last week after hearing that they had put in special parking for combat wounded vets .i am not combat wounded but am a disabled vet with a service dog . it was good seeing the little girl who used to run around the place had grown up and now owned and was running it .to say they are vet friendly is an understatment . the kindness shown to me and my dog by both the staff and customers will never be forgotten . they not only talk the talk but walk the walk (ask your dad or grandfather what it means) when it comes to serving vets .again for myself and dog (thats his name) we will be returning often and hope other veterans will also . see you there

Great food, great service and always super clean. We got there just before closing, not knowing this when we came in, and they still treated us like we were the first and didn't rush us. This was our second time there and we'll be back.

I have been here over 20 years and have NEVER tasted hush puppies like that. Dreamy! The coleslaw is fantastic. We will be coming back for more!

Fisher's is a treat to eat at. The prices can be a bit high depending on what you're in the mood for-but the fact that everything is home made more than makes up for it. You get a serving size of whatever you order so you can eat it all in one sitting-which is really nice. It's definitely worth checking into if you like good quality meals and can afford to wait a little bit to get your order.

Quaint little place with awesome food and friendly service! And, thank you for supporting our veterans!

if you cant afford to eat out then stay home. This business doesnt deserve to be bashed by an empty wallet that expects to get free meals. Go to a bagel shop if you want a bagel. Good people good food. Leave it at that.
