Zizzi Bedford

We came in for lunch yesterday, and we were surprised to see that the place was actually a bit empty. I would have expected the students at Bedford College to be ramming the place for lunch, but not this time. Perhaps a 5 star review might help! 😇 Zizzi is ideal for all meals, be it a light lunch or a big evening meal. I can heartily recommend the cheesy chili garlic bread, a spicy take on an established classic! 😋 For my main I had a chicken and spinach calzone, and it was delicious. Chicken, ham, mushrooms, spinach, mozzarella and bechemel sauce - it sounds like an improbable combo, but trust me, it works incredibly well! Their coffees all cone in intriguing glasses, as well ☕️ My partner, who has coeliac disease, also feels very safe ordering from here, as all the pastas and pizza doughs can be prepared gluten free. We'll be back for lunch and dinner, for sure 🍕🍝

This was my first time visiting Zizzi's, as soon as you get to the entry, there are guidelines. Before you shown your table you asked to fill in a Track & Trace form. We were shown our table by a blonde girl, she was ever so nice, she gave us some nibbles before we ordered anything, Pasta Crisps (Vegan and Gluten Free) coated in a somkey paprika flavour, about 5 mins after, lady with short hair (i believe one of the managers) took our drinks order. Once our drinks got to the table, the "manager" asked if we were ready to order. We went for the 2 Course Meals Lunch for £9.75, both of us asked for our starters and mains, plus an additional side each. Our starters were really nice, on my salad it said on the menu, that would be marinated in balsamic vinegar and olive oil, but neither of this were on the dish. Not a problem at all anyway. After we finished our starters it didn't take long for our mains to get to the table, the mains were both nice, we never got our sides though. After we finished, we asked for the bill were it states a "Optional Staff Tip - £2.37" but we didn't get asked if we wanted it taken off the bill or not just got made pay it, it's not an issue, although if it is an Optional Tip, the waiter should make the customer aware of it, before processing the bill.

I had an absolutely lovely lunch with my work colleagues today at Zizzi. Even though it was packed full with kids on half term, we had a great service with the very kind and charismatic team members. I had a soul balls starter and lentil linguine ragu dish and both of them exceeded my expectations. Absolutely lovely and well priced with a set menu offer. The new refreshing watermelon drink was great too.
