Captain D's

First time at a Captain D's. I was excited to try it. Having spent a lifetime eating at Long John Silver's tho I couldn't help but compare. I got the supreme sampler and the best thing about it was the coleslaw. The green beans tasted off somehow I couldn't finish them. Whatever piece of fish I got was not crunchy but the batter was kind of mushy. The shrimp was okay, no cocktail sauce but I guess I didn't ask for it. The chicken strips were barely tolerable. I literally feel like I've had the same chicken from my freezer. Additionally, I was put off that we were dining inside yet they gave us everything in to go containers. It really cheapened the dining-in experience. I felt cheated when we went to dispose of our trash and it said put your "plates and silverware here" Also the country music was exceptionally loud in the dining room. On which my 7 yr old granddaughter heard a few things that she said "were not school appropriate" LOL I'm sorry to write this. Really, I get no pleasure out of writing a review like this. There was only two others dining in and I see why. I might try Captain D's again but it will be to see if maybe this was just a fluke location or if this is how they do business.

My husband and I, on a spare of the moment decision, opted for one of the healthier, low calorie options at Captain D's. It was late, we were very hungry, and our expectations were not very high. Boy, what a surprise! The tilapia was cooked very nicely. The rice was very tasty. The broccoli was steamed! It was not a soppy, mushy mess. It was just like the broccoli I steam at home. What a pleasant surprise the whole experience was! And the lovely lady at the counter (June 10, 2022; 9:15ish) was so kind and polite - in spite of my indecision. This was an incredible fast food option at 500 calories. Highly recommend.

If you haven't visited this Captain D's location lately, you need to. I visited today, November 24, 2019. I was highly impressed with the service of this store. The crew on duty was super friendly and was all about customer service. This says a lot for the store manager and his staff. The food was delicious and the store was clean. You all are doing a Great Job! Keep up the good work!
