Mels Drive Inn

We try to hit the local places when we're on a road trip. I don't think we'll hit this one again. Appearance was 4 stars. It's a great small town burger place. Had the look and feel you'd expect. The staff that we saw were high school kids. Totally expect that at this type of place. They weren't that friendly or attentive which was a downer. We came in and it took a while for some one to come to the counter. Felt like he'd never taken and order from someone that wasn't intimately familiar with their menu. While we were eating another family came in and waited for a while at the counter. They actually came over and asked how long it took for our food. Told them it took over 30 minutes for ours. They decided to just leave. Still nobody at the counter when they walked out.So 2 stars for the service. The food was fine, not great. We had a mixture of burgers, chicken sandwiches and chicken fingers. I always expect great food at these places. I figure they're small and can do a better job on quality. Not so much here It's what you'd expect from a place that just cooks what they get from their food supplier. 2 stars on that. We did a shake and that was ok, 3 stars on that. So overall, it was fine. Friendlier staff would've pushed my review to 3 stars. Next time I think we'll just hit one of the chain places off the free way. Which makes me sad. 😔

We had family tell us we HAD to try them next time we’re through Beaver so we finally stopped by. The dole whip was soooo good! Our kids got corn dogs and my husband and I got burgers. All delicious! The fries were our favorite part of our meal. So good and the perfect crisp! If you have time to stop by on your drive, do it. It was tasty!

Family of Eight. Six kids. Highly recommended. Even Had our picky eater stand up and say he loves his food. They have two arcade games and a pinball machine while you wait, and a juke box. Bring your quarters! Fast service for a classic drive inn! Yummy. Definitely better to go here than McDonald's. Will stop again when we pass through again.

Absolutely delicious food!! We stopped here on our way to St.George, and I was so blown away by the food that we stopped again on our way back😂!! The wait really wasn’t to bad either. About what you’d expect for food cooked fresh. The fries were seriously the best fries I’ve ever had, and the pineapple dole ice cream thing mixed with sprite was soooooo good!! 😋 And the chicken wrap was amazing too! Definitely be going again on our next trip!👏🏻👏🏻

We waited 40 minutes for our food. The Navajo taco was uncooked and doughy in the center, soggy from the sauce, and was cold. They didn’t ring up the chicken and the order before us didn’t get the chicken they paid for. Fries and onion rings were cold too. The only things that weren’t awful were the root beer float and the dole whip. If you can’t make food to order fast enough that it’s hot and completely cooked then don’t run a restaurant. Skip this one for sure. After reading the owner response I’d like to add that we could hear your snarky comments in the background when you wouldn’t come discuss the problems with us directly. We weren’t being rude about what happened and we trying to give you the benefit of the doubt until that point. You also had two employees fighting about who should make some of our order because neither one wanted to do it. You have dozens of bad reviews for months without any resolution. You aren’t staging the food properly and your adding sauces too soon so they sit on the food and make it soggy. Don’t try to pretend that this is an isolated event when other people had the same experience we did on the same day we were there. Fix the problems instead of trying to make excuses.
