Tavern 101

We decided to try this place because the reviews looked good and we hadn't been here before. We ordered the crab dip appetizer, which came in a bread bowl with Ritz crackers and crumbs on the side. The crab dip tasted old and of sugar, but may just be a personal taste issue. For the entire, my friend ordered a $15 burger, which came topped with rotten tomato. She said it was not a good burger. My daughter and I shared a flat bread chicken BBQ pizza. It tasted OK, but was extremely crunchy. You could not eat the crust, which made it pretty small for two people. So in summary, I thought it was kind of pricey for lunch - $40 for my daughter and I, and I wasn't impressed with the food at all.

Beyond Amazing food! I had their Tavern 101 Signature burger it was probably the best burger I have had "IN" Bay City, MI. The customer services is very good. Even during covid-19 my waitress was very kind and very respectful. If you are passing through or want a good place to eat, I highly recommend stopping in at Tavern 101.

The food is great. Their flat breads are one of the best. Even when the place was crowded and packed there was no delay for food and the service was very good. Servers were nice and friendly. They serve complementary popcorn which goes great with alcohol. Also they have outdoor seating and a huge bar with beers from some brewing companies from Michigan.

This is a really nice place, and is the closest to the river restaurant we could find. We had a group of five and everyone was pleased with their meal and their drinks. Food was good and Long Island Tea was excellent (Those are hard to master). One of our beer connoisseurs really liked the two stout beers he tried. The only draw back was that the service was really slow.

I asked for beer suggestions from our server. She told me to look at beer menu and really did not know what IPA’s or bourbon aged beer they had. I had to go up to the bar and ask the bartender. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful! I can somewhat understand if the server did not have a recommendation but why did she not offer to go and find out but rather tell me “twice” to just look over the beer selection menu? Was she not trained properly or just a little lazy? Food was great! And we always love the popcorn!
