Oh the joy on my face when I walked in!! OMG candy!! So much taffy to pick from, and all separated too! Pick the flavors, that YOU only like/love! The ice cream...amazing!! So many choices, that appeals from little kids all the way to senior citizen kids!! Service: so patient and friendly!!! You may find customers lined up outside the door, be patient, this tells you how much this place is loved & enjoyed! If I could give it 10 stars, I would!!

The moment when I opened the door at Granny's Pantry I knew I was in for a good time. The smell of ice cream, baking, and sweets was overwhelming. Service was quick and efficient. We were here for ice cream cones. Everyone was able to find something that they liked from the many, many flavors. I was especially tempted by the display of fudge, but my common sense got the better of me after a day full of eating local treats. I have absolutely appreciated the large selection of saltwater taffy. I could have brought home any flavor I had ever dreamed of. Thanks Granny's!

It appears that their candy selection has decreased from previous years. Kemps ice cream fills 3 freezers. Thus a wide selection of flavors. Homemade waffle cones. Their chocolate waffle cone adds another dimension to the overall taste of the dairy treats! The staff was friendly. Large portions of ice cream.

Open during the summer months, Granny's Pantry in the town of Battle Lake serves several ice cream flavors and sells bulk candy, such as salt water taffy, and various flavors of fudge. Most summer nights you'll see several people eating their treats on the sidewalk outside Granny's. There are a couple mosaic-covered benches outside the store, and other art pieces nearby to look at as you munch. Ice cream is served in paper cups or good sized waffle cones, and portions are usually generous, though that can depend on the server. When I'm up there on a visit, I try to make it a point to stop in at Granny's for a double-scoop cone on my way back home. It's the perfect way to end a weekend at the lake.

Granny's is a pillar of the community during the summer; you can often find three or more generations enjoying ice cream together out on the sidewalk. There's almost always a line, but it goes quickly and you can enjoy the AC and the smell of sweets while you wait. Great selection of bulk candy, fudge and chocolates made in-house, and of course the ice cream! Purchases are cash only, but there is an ATM inside. I begged my parents to take me as a kid, and now my kids do the same to me.
