Wings are great, the broth was ok, little heavy on the garlic and mushroom flavors. Will have to try the buns next time.
Found this place as we were passing though town and we were blown away. First of all it's a bit hard to find because it is part of a dining hall called White Star Market, which walking in there we were excited. We had the Addie and Oskar's Wild. Both were very good I added the chili paste to the Oskar Wild and my lips were burning, use it sparingly. Wish we lived here so I could come back. I will definitely stop in to try the other places when I am passing through.
Back in town for one day and had to check out this spot! Glad to see this food hall option in mid-city of baton rouge. With the weather getting colder yes colder in Louisiana lol, you'll need hot noodle soup options to keep you going and they got you with the ramen and I don't mean that (99 cent top ramen either). Let's put it this way if you haven't had it yet then you're missing out, but they also sell baos (little asian white bun that looks like a taco but taste like a savory sandwich) just tell your friends it's an asian taco and taco about it while you're eating it! Also got an order of the tater tots loaded aka they called it the totchos. I'll be back for another bowl or two next time I'm in town!
It was very good! The phat cow bao and pork phat bao were easy, delicious bites. The Ronin Ramen was a savory bowl that we added fried tofu and pork too. #Worthit
Chow Yum Phat was delicious. The three different ramen I tried were all great. My favorite was the Ronin ramen. The pork belly and egg put this one on the top of my list. The Addie is great if you wanted a little extra spice in your life. I can't wait to try some of the other ramen or the Bao.
I really liked the environment in this place, it's tucked in on a corner off the highway and gives that cool 'hole in the wall' feel but when you walk in it's very modern and stylish. I had the 'Hot Honey Chicken bao' and I was pleasantly surprised, it's an assortment of textures and flavors but can simply be described as simply delicious. Great food and service ~~
I also had a pleasant experience seeing there's also a coffee vendor right inside with a coffee bar, freshly ground and premium coffee.
I liked the Americano soo much I ended up getting a cappuccino, cookie, & blueberry muffin for later.. When I drank the coffee and had the snacks I was shocked at how tasty it was!!
Side note: I really liked the baristas attitude that served me. Come to find out he owns the coffee business and is a solid guy and family man. Pretty sure his name was Dillon, anyway he knows coffee & how to make it well.
Check this place out, one of Baton Rouge's best kept secrets!
Chow Yum Phat and Social Coffee for the win
Good ramen is hard to find. Chow Yum Phat is great! I also recommend a drink from the bar of the market.
