The service and the food was ahhmazing! My family and I will definitely come back again. We enjoyed the fried catfish, fried porkchops and fried chicken. My favorite side was the yams and mac & cheese! Sooo good!
I get the meatloaf and the hamburger steak plate all the time; I love their food and there are fewer and fewer soul food spots around.... So 5 stars from me!!!!!
Looking for REAL soul food, This is the place. Good people, good service and great food. Put it in your life and weekly rotation of places to eat at. Heavy plates and they have the homemade punch to wash it down with and it's the truth.
I usually stick to what I know like the turkey wings, lasagna, baked fish, or fried fish I really never wanted to try the stew chicken and I'm sorry I did 1st off I don't really care for preboil rice it's just super bland ig that's a Baton Rouge thing that type of rice 🤷🏽♀️anywho the chicken 🍗 legs was 1 of mines was a Lil tuff and PLEASEEE YOU HAVE TOO SEASONnnN THE CHICKENSSS If You Gone Be A Soulfood Cafe You gots to do it Right.THE PEACH🍑🍑🍑🍑 COBBLER GAIN THE 4 STARS CUZ THAT SHYT IS THE TRUTH 😋😋😋LAWWD..

My first time here and I tried the oxtail. It did not disappoint at all.
The person in front of me in line ordered two plates. And the two people after me ordered the same as well.
I had the Mac and cheese and potato salad as my sides and it went great with my meal.

I had been craving ox tail an found this spot on Google. They did not disappoint. My food was delicious!
This was my second trip. This time, the reception wasn't as friendly and inviting. When I placed my order, I realized that the lady on the big picture was the one taking my order. I thought that the owner would be nicer and more welcoming than she was. Perhaps she was beyond tired and should have ended her shift early. It almost felt like she had lost her passion for her business. When I realized who was taking my order, I got excited and said, "Hey! That's her!" My enthusiasm dissipated because it felt like she didn't care that I was thankful to see the owner in person. There was no complimentary drink today. We ordered one catfish with etouffe and one plate with catfish. The yams were good and so were the greens. Great cook. Next time, if the owner is there, I hope she'll be happier. I'd rather see gratitude and feel appreciated for bringing my support. Otherwise, I hope the lady from my first experience is there.
