The mandarin chicken is always on point and the food is always hot and fresh. When ever I'm in town this is a MUST stop.
Good Chinese...simple facade belies. While waiting for lunch special; couple locals quick to tell me of solid performer over yrs. Simple atmosphere tho authentic / gooatmosphere made by husband / wife team: Mr & Mrs. Tong. Tracie works register and is most affable. I had Chicken KungBo and upgrade to fried rice. Abt $7+tax. Get in to go box as you'll hv enuf for dinner too. Hot made to order. A slight bit heavy on sauce but it was well balanced. Nice mix veggies. Tv & newspaper avail while wait...tho learned to call ahead. Solid neighborhood performer.
Great Food in Quality and Quantity. I ate at Hong Kong Chef today. The food was great. Great in quality and quantity. I got so much food for the money. I was so full when I left, I just couldn't eat it all in one setting. I will be back again and again. The owners are very nice people.
Best beef curry in town.. I have been enjoying Miss Pat's culinary stylings for a few years now and have always been more than pleased with everything I've tried. She cooks each dish to order and serves huge portions. My perennial favorite is her orange chicken, which never fails to delight with its spicy, citrusy goodness.
Last week, however, I decided to try something new: Curry. You can choose between beef and chicken, and I opted for the beef. This dish literally blew me (and everyone at my table) away. It's a beautiful dark yellow curry, very aromatic and spicy. She serves it with plenty of thinly sliced beef and vegetables and this dish easily could feed 2-3 people...it's huge! Priced at about $9 - $10, it would make an excellent choice for a couple who'd like to share something delicious and save a few dollars, too.
Arguably one of the better Chinese food establishments in the greater baton rouge area. Food was delicious, pricing was very fair, portions were large, service was quick, staff was friendly, facilities seemed clean.
If I had anything to request differently, there would be more vegetables in the fried rice.
Food was excellently prepared, served quickly and very tasty. Priced extremely reasonably this is very good food at a bargain price.
Great little place that serves a lot of food at good prices! A definite hidden gem!!!
Great food and friendly service! We stopped by the area late in the night after a family trip to New Orleans. I was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was still open. Staff/owner was very friendly. The fried rice was very delicious and we've got a very generous portion to feed 2 with left overs. Thank you for the great experience.
This is one of my favorite restaurants from my college years. Even rubbed off on my children. It was nostalgic eating there Saturday. The Mandarin chicken, my fav, was good. A tad salty, but good. My kids and I truly enjoyed our meal. Side note: my girls used the restroom and noted a funny odor in the area before the restroom.
This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the portions are huge. I would totally recommend this to anyone.
Last time I was there was over 20 years ago while attending S.U. and the food quality hasn't changed! Great taste, huge portions, good prices. I would advise anyone, especially College students who are hungry and low on funds to go to the Cafe first 😁 but if you missed it, Hong Kong Chef will fill you up. I ordered the Mandarin Chicken.
Nice all you can eat buffet and large menu to order from. Very good customer service. The food is good also. They do not weigh the to go plates from the all you can eat buffet. It's one price no matter how much food you add to your plate. I like that one because most places weigh your plate. Good hot food.
