Review Portobello's Grill - Baton Rouge

The food is high quality and well prepared. They have an option for anyone, from a hamburger to filet. The server was attentive and funny. I had the fish Katherine and it was very good. But my favorite part was the Ceasar salad. I absolutely loved the dressing.

Amazing food and staff!! We came to Baton Rouge for our honeymoon and found this lovely place, our waitress Ayanna was fantastic and the restaurants manager Kelley was so friendly and inviting she found out we were here for our honeymoon and made it very special for us. The food was extraordinary and they went above and beyond to care for my wife’s shellfish allergy. Will recommend a thousand time and we will be back before we leave.

I got the fresh fish and veggies with a sensation salad. All great! At the end of the meal you get a surprise! How did they know I love cotton candy!

Great little restaurant serving a variety of foods. We stopped by for a quick lunch and were glad to be greeted by friendly staff and good food. Two of the people at our table have had a bad experience with one of the managers being very rude at this location, but fortunately that did not happen this time. All in all, the food and service were great and I’d recommend stopping by for a reasonably priced lunch.

We had such a great experience here! The server was outstanding and on top of things, and the managers came around to make sure things were going well. We had a delicious appetizer, salad, and entrees, and a little wine and champagne, followed by coffee. Beautiful atmosphere and great location. Would totally recommend!

What a fantastic restaurant. Portobello's is a great place to enjoy an excellent meal with a quiet atmosphere. Whether you are looking to have a romantic evening, a business meeting, or a night with friends and family, you will be happy here. An excellent meal, and good wine selection. The staff is courteous, respectful, and attentive. This is a not so hidden gem in Baton Rouge!

Our family decided to give it a try for brunch and so glad we did! The calamari appetizer, which I forgot to take a picture, is light and crispy. The waffle is very good, I think the strawberry butter is made with fresh strawberry rather than jam. The chicken is tender and juicy, however the linguine is a little bit over cooked. Their tomato sauce is a must try, it comes with both the calamari and linguine. It is thick, flavorful and very refreshing, doesn’t have a strong herb taste which I really like.

The dish I ordered was the shrimp and crab alfredo. The crab patty was undercooked and still doughy in the middle. I ate a few bites before it became obvious that this dish was not well prepared. I requested for a manager to come to the table only to make this visit more regrettable. She proceeded to say "well next time you come it will be better" I did stop her and ask her how important are "first impressions" she never answered. I also told her I'm visiting this city and there is not a chance that I would return to a business serving me half cooked food. If I had ordered sushi that would have been just fine, however, this was not the case. I also made a comment to the waitress about why were we never offered any type of bread. She said oh it's .99cent as if that was too much and said sorry they walked away. My problem with this place that wants to be in the category with "Italian Cuisine" you should model your business like the category you want to be a part of. I have never in my life ate at an Italian restaurant and was not offered bread, in fact, I've never had to ask. This was an all around terrible experience. Louisiana has superb cajun cuisines, Italian style was ruined by Portobello's Grill. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

very poor service today at lunch. even though we told the server we were on our lunch hour after 45 minutes from order, no food. then when questioned there was no apology or sense of urgency. we asked for the manager. another 15 minutes on the food. he was a no show and when asked the server said he was too busy. we asked her for the bill and he comped the meal. are we to think he'd rather throw away sales/profit instead of talk to us? not much business sense in that. food was good but was so rushed we didn't notice. owners, please take note.

The food and atmosphere were great. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the bathroom is really small and could have been cleaned better. But the food was terrific!

Absolutely love this restaurant. The food is good but the service is even better. Now where do you find that in Baton Rouge!? This restaurant not only prepares consistently yummy dishes, it actually makes an extra effort for their guests in every way.

We held our office Christmas Dinner at Portobello’s Grill: Bocage and we could not have been more pleased with the wait staff, the food and the service. I highly recommend them for your next dining experience,

This is one of my favorite restaurants. My husband is vegan and they prepare a special pasta and vegetable dish for him. We go there once a week and I have never had bad service. The bread is so good. I always get the Jag salad with fried crawfish and I have never been disappointed.

The Red Stick burger, topped with blue cheese, bacon, grilled onions, served on a sweet bun is the most generously portioned, juicy, flavorful burger in Baton Rouge. They managed to make a cheeseburger a delicacy. While most would not go to Portobello's expecting to find a burger on the menu or order one, I recommend going specifically for this burger! I've had other dishes as well, and they've never disappointed me, and I've always had excellent service and delicious food at the Bocage location.

Absolutely love this place! Best salads in town, best burgers in town. Make sure you try the Chicken and Sausage gumbo, one of the best in Louisiana.

Love the grilled pork chops and the creamed spinach! Definitely a fave place for dinner and drinks!

Went here on 12/3/16 for hubby's birthday dinner and had a nice time. Food was good, service was on point, and the atmosphere was awesome. It was a blended crowd, young/okd, black/white/etc. We left full and happy, will return again.

I just had amazing brunch here, and it was not my first excellent experience at this fantastic restaurant, nor will it be my last! The food is top notch with great, high quality ingredients and innovative flavor pairings. I want to extend a special thanks to Brittany for being so attentive of our experience! I cannot remember my waitor's name, but his service was excellent as well. It was as though he could read my mind. This restaurant really focuses on the customer experience, and I can't wait to go back for more!

Everything on the menu is excellent. The tomato basil soup is one of my favorites.Another favorite is their stuffed redfish.
