Meeshell, the waitress, was great. She was very attentive, prompt and polite in her service. Food could have been stepped on and we would still leave a solid review based on her service. Luckily though food was pretty good. Fried mushrooms and Reubens sandwich were both good. As well as both shrimp and kid pastas!

This place gets busy! Great food, strong drinks, and good service given how busy they were. My only regret was only getting a cup of the clam chowder and not a bowl. I'll be back!

We've been coming to Bath for years. This has always been our favorite place for dinner. I dinged a star because this last time my sister and I each ordered the reuben and they forgot the dressing on both of them, so they were very dry. We asked the waitress for some and she was great and brought it out. Quantity of food for the price is fantastic, especially compared to other local restaurants. The building and interior design is fun and cozy.

My husband and I were in Bath and chose this place—we were not sorry! Delicious bread, excellent sangria house Chardonnay was crisp and refreshing. My husband said that their clam chowder was the best that he had ever eaten. That’s saying a lot. I loved the French onion soup, and could’ve eaten an entire plate of their asparagus. Our server Allerie really shone after the rush was over, chatting with us and making suggestions. The restaurant is a bit understaffed, so don’t be in a hurry, but who isn’t these days? So glad we discovered this place. We will be back the next time we are here.

Nice establishment. Good customer service. Good cocktails, and great burger. Burger was cooked to perfection. Fries are crispy and brown. Key lime pie was tasty. A little tart but good over all. 5 of 5 forks. Prices are reasonable.

Excellent food, very fresh. Highly recommend the French onion soup and scallops. Seating was slightly cramped, but fit with the atmosphere. Service was excellent, but not as friendly as we're used to. However, this seems standard for New England. You won't regret stopping and enjoying dinner here.

Man, J.R. Maxwells is some of the best dining in Bath! From their cheese sticks and sweet chili dipping sauce to their seafood plates, you can not miss! I had the scallop and haddock plate it was an absolute banger! My wife had fried shrimp, it was delicious, and my daughter had a combo with potato soup and a sandwich. Lacked refills on our water, but they were slammed. Baked stuffed haddock and the chicken cord on Bleu are also worth looking into! We all had dessert, I had the strawberry shortcake, and it made my taste buds very happy! Maxwells is a staple for Bath residents, and travelers should come in and be welcomed into the greatest little town in America!

Great food and great atmosphere for a meal that reminds one of what Maine is all about. It's maritime themed interior gives you lots to consider and talk about as you dine with friends, family, or even when on a date. I javelin never had anything less than tasty, fresh seafood whenever I have dined here. I highly recommend Maxwell's.

The oysters were delicious, the fried haddock was not bad but not especially good. The burger was good. While the restaurant was busy (I understand most restaurants are understaffed now) the staff members were very helpful. This is a great option for a restaurant open later at night.

Come to Bath for the gorgeous town and stay for the amazing food! We had the best meal of our entire trip at Maxwell. I was itching for some clam chowder and this stuff did not disappoint. It's creamy and smooth with delicious chunks of yummy. I got the haddock with amaretto lobster cream sauce. You can see the large chunks of lobster meat and the sauce was fresh and amazing. Kid #1 got "the best Reuben he's ever eaten" and kid#2 devoured his entire plate of fish n chips. As I've stated before, being from Rochester NY we know good fish fry so this is really saying something. We were dying to try the Indian pudding but sadly had no room in the bellies. Service was friendly and the dining room was lovely. We'll be back for that Indian pudding as soon as we can!
