Absolutely wonderful boutique hotel! The room was spotless and the best shower head and water pressure ever! Rooms are unique as described. All the basics. Bathroom is small but so well done that it is not a deterrent. Love location - great coffee shop adjacent, family pizza place and can walk through downtown area and take in outdoor art exhibits with history as well as the winter light art exhibit. You won’t regret a stay at The Sherman.

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at The Sherman. While there were a few cons, the overall experience was a good one. We loved the bathroom. The room itself was not extremely sound proof - however, it is a historical building so that is understandable.
The hotel décor and styling is extremely enjoyable if you enjoy historic buildings. I especially enjoyed the restaurant area. Truly, the restaurant is what put this place over the top for us. The food was 100% amazing! We had breakfast here both days of our stay and it was not only delicious but memorable. Our servers were extremely nice and the food was worth raving over.
If we are ever in the area again (live out of state) we would definitely want to come back here.

Went on a weekday, their forest bar area is pretty ok with really tacky red napkins. Service was not great, either they don't have enough staff due to pandemic or our server was just having an off day. The pretzel was however to die for with alright fish and chips. The best part was however their Black forest cake. Amazing dessert and a must try, overall I feel that the place has gone a bit downhill during pandemic as we had visited it in 2017 and it was much better. I hope it revives soon, we were going to stay there overnight but decided against it as anymore it just gives a vibe as staying in any other 3 star hotel.

The Sherman is the place to be. The rooms are very comfortable and warm feeling a nice get away. The entrees served in Black Forest Bar are amazing with a great appearance. I visited the Bier Hall which is very unique, lots of choices on beers and drinks. Bartenders are very friendly. The owners are out on the floor checking on guests to get feedback on their visit.

Very comfortable, clean, and convenient place to stay. The service was excellent and prompt, and the front desk/managers were always wonderful, easy to talk to and eager to help. They’re knowledgeable about the local area, and gave a well-deserved recommendation for the Pearl St. Pub nearby.

I love this place! Room is beautifully updated, clean, and oh so comfortable, especially the bed. The free to-go breakfast is an interesting concept, and a delicious one. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, and the Black Forest Bar is beautiful, comfortable, and prices are not outrageous. I will definitely stay here again.

We arrived for an early dinner. No one was at the front desk so we walked into the bar where we were greeted. We chose to sit in the dining area. Our server was great, the food was delicious.

My wife and i stayed here for the night. It is 20 minutes from Metamora. Very cute little town. It is very close to many things to walk to. Love music on Fridays. Highly recommend.
