Portillo's Batavia

Went to this location on Sunday 04/24. HORRIBLE experience. The cashier didn't know to ring in orders and needed assistance, the people in front of me were waiting for remakes of issues with their salads. I had a very long wait for my Char-dog. And when it finally arrived, it was a regular hot dog. The spicy chicken sandwich that was also ordered was horrendous. This is sincerely the worst experience of portillos I have ever had. I love Portillo's. Grew up with it and especially at this location the food has always great. Today I put in a curbside pick up order because I needed a whole chocolate cake for a party the following day. Figured that would be quicker then chancing them not having one ready when I got in, or being that person that just expects them to have a whole cake ready. Man was I wrong. Our pick up time was 6:15 pm, and we arrived early. At 6:40 I called and asked what the issue was and they told me they were running late and that they didn't know when my order would be ready. I asked for a timeline to be told that they were bagging it as we were speaking. I understand being busy but to not give an update or know where my order is is ridiculous. During this wait time I watched as 8-9 cars with curbside orders got their food in a timely matter/immediately when they pulled up, which it itself was frustrating. It was not until 7pm when I walked into the building asking for my food did I see it sitting on the counter. When I asked what the problem was I just got the same sentence of "we are busy", which anyone with eyes could see. They did get me fresh fries which I appreciated (and honestly expected as the bare minimum). Long story short from this experience, giving them a heads up that you need a whole chocolate cake is a waste of your time because they don't utilize the opportunity, instead I am going to go through the drive thru and ask. Very disappointed.

Truly disappointing! The new owner has changed so many ingredients over a short period of time. Tonight ended our ordering from you all together. You changed your beef and the flavor. Yes you piled it on. But it was terrible! So sorry you have gone to the cheaper route for your ingredients. The beef is greasy and no spices. I’m sure I will be one of many to come. You ruined a Great thing. Cutting corners never is a Good thing wish Dock Portillo stilled owned the franchise.
