Moved here to Bastrop about 2years ago and had been meaning to stop in here for lunch. I can slap myself for not coming here sooner.
I ordered the Chicken fried steak w/ mashed potatoes & gravy & green beans. (Cost about $12-ish)
Everything was cooked perfect and tasted GREAT! The portion was so huge that I could only eat half. (I’m looking forward to my leftover dinner tonight)
AND THE ROLL.... It was HUGE and heavy!! It reminded me of my grandmas homemade rolls!!! It could have been a lunch my itself.
I am already planning my next visit.

Great food. Great service. Clean restroom. Super clean service and restaurant. Had a grilled chicken salad. It was so big I could only eat half. So I brought home the rest and had it for dinner. Really nice place to eat.

I was thrown by the name (was thinking it was lunch and dinner but it is breakfast and lunch). This is an authentic small town diner experience! Friendly wait staff, amazing bacon, cops hanging out, and random people in camo. Hurry and go before the hippies from Austin start going here ironically.

Decent food, decent prices, decent atmosphere - they're just good decent people, simple as that! A Bastrop institution since, well, nobody real knows how far it goes back. It's always been there.

It’s a great cafe. A true old time Texas country cafe, which have become as rare as “honest” politicians. Good food and good service. Had breakfast there and the sausage omelette was superb.
