Del Taco

Recently discovered that this still taco is the original del taco!! Still owned an operated by the founding family. You could really tell the difference... The food wasn't so excellent and there was plenty of it! The tacos were SO FAT and wonderful! Chile cheese fries were SMOTHERED in Chile (no skimping). If you're ever in Barstow, CA, do yourself a favor and stop by either of the Del Tacos.

This is the best Del Taco I've ever been to. The staff is great, they are extremely professional and polite. The food was definitely worth every bit of 5 stars, I have never been to any fast food locations more less another del taco that truly put the work and quality into their products like this establishment. To the staff and to management, you guys are doing a great job your hard work shows! I wish more businesses would show they care about the customers and products like you guys.

I've got to say this is a good del Taco restaurant as far as food quality and amount. Where we live there are several del tacos and the food is sparing. We constantly wonder if we ordered the right thing because they are often a lot smaller than what we paid for but at This one, money and food equal out. It's also at least when we were there on a Sunday afternoon. Quite packed and filled with colorful characters. If that's a problem for you, you're now in the know. But we were hungry. We were tired and people watching isn't a problem. Go if you want a good amount of food for the money you pay that's tasty.

Overall: 4.1/5 (dine in) It was my first time trying Del Taco and I was so excited since this location had 4 stars. It seems like this place has location specific tacos since it had Barstow in the name but I could be wrong. The food came out quickly after we ordered. The packaging was great; they wrapped the tacos in an aluminum foil to keep the food warm then wrapped that with a yellow paper one. Fish Taco ($3.29): They wrapped a lime wedge separate from the fish taco but the fact that they even include it for a fast food restaurant was impressive. The fish taco was a bit small but it was good. It does have a bit of a fishy taste to it at the middle of the fish stick. Still really good overall, especially with the lime. No sauce needed. Bun Taco ($3.39): This is basically a taco filling placed on 2 hamburger buns. It was interesting to try but we wouldn't get it again. The mashup just didn't work. I think the meat didn't have enough flavor so I had to add a lot of hot sauce. Barstow Steak Street Taco ($2.89): You can choose between chicken or steak and we were recommended the steak. I was surprised by how tender their steak was. The flavors on this taco was phenomenal. It tasted just like the one you can get on the street but without that oily, warm tortilla. This was both our favorite item we tried of the three. Highly recommend!

Upon on trying to order using the Del Yeah rewards app for a promo notification I got for a free burrito today I was told this is NOT a corporate location, but privately owned. So they do not honor Del Taco promotions or the app. I was disappointed but ordered anyways, and I am certainly glad I did. My family is loyal, frequent Del Taco customers, and we all agree this was the BEST Del Taco food we've ever encountered. Everything was SO fresh and generously portioned. The chicken soft tacos were literally double the size they usually are. The green sauce was amazing, and the chicken was perfect. If being privately owned means better quality, I'll support that all day. This Del Taco should be the standard. Also, the restrooms and dining room were clean.
