Black Bear Diner

Excellent dining experience for long travels we normally rest here. The convenience of being next to the local gas stations and shopping areas plus good portions for the kids mean it's a great place to eat. The food is American Diner Fair and acceptable given its price range. What is exceptional is the black coffee strong and with good flavor. I recommend this place to anyone with kids but I would suggest to order light keep an extra menu because you will get huge portion sizes. The papa bear hot sauce is 🔥.

After a long outdoor trip, this was the perfect place to go. After entering, I felt the impactful atmosphere that spread the aromic taste of food in the air. The staff occupying the restaurant were joyful to seat me down at a table. I decided to order coffee and a turkey Ruben. After a short wait, I was finally satisfied. The coffee I had was fresh and smooth in my mouth. The Ruben was warm and tasty. 10/10

My Goddaughter drives from L.A. and I drive in from Las Vegas, we meet at the Black Bear Diner in Barstow. We've only ordered breakfast and we enjoy every bite! Friendly staff all around, lots of smiles from everyone. Clean restaurant, clean table and chairs or booth, and clean restroom. We love their French Toast and we share a side order of biscuits and gravy (I think it's a good sized portion). We have never left hungry, thank goodness the Outlet Mall is across the freeway so we can try to walk off the "food coma"! This is a chain restaurant that, at the Barstow location, gives you the feeling of a Mom and Pop Diner. They were busy and they took the time to thank us for our patronage! Thumbs up all around!

Even though this location is in a truck stop you get the same attentive care as a stand alone location. We were seated immediately, the table was clean, the bathroom was clean, the high chair they brought for my son was also free of and evidence of a prior occupant. I ordered the bread pudding and had it brought before my meal. I love bread pudding and this one did not disappoint. I had the tri tip sandwich deluxe minus the onions. I enjoyed the sandwich, was what I would expect of a sandwich shop product. Nick the server took great care of us and joked with my kids. We will definitely visit this location again.

Always a vibe at Black Bear! Plenty of truck parking. I Love the real FRESH SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE. I was there on Friday but too early for the Prime Rib so I got steak and eggs and it was DELECTABLE!!! I don't eat French Toast, but miscommunication between me and the waitress caused it to be my bread of choice, i decided to try it and it was GOOOOD! Also met a few fellow truckers at the “bar” and struck up some good conversations

Love the atmosphere at Black Bear Diners! My bobs big bear burger was huge, hot, fresh and delicious. My wife’s pot roast dinner was hot, fresh, tender and delicious as well. Huge shout out to Nick for the great friendly service. It’s hard to come by and greatly appreciated these days. Will definitely be back!
