Me and 3 of my coworkers dined here late in the afternoon. We were drawn to the high review ratings and the fact that it is located on the water. The patio was huge and gorgeous overlooking the bay. Our server was fantastic - attentive, kind, and honest about what she would recommend to eat. We all ordered and lobster roll (warm with butter) and they did not disappoint! It was a little chilly but the stunning views made it worth it! We would definitely go back.
Someone told us this place had the best lobster roll! We happened to be staying here so we thought mine as well try it! It did not disappoint!! The lobster rolls were huge ($32) and comes with a side! The lobster bisque was delicious! Service was fast, attentive & friendly.
Their lobster roll was better than Clam Shack in Kennebunkport.
I would recommend checking out the terrace grill in bar harbor on a warm night! The view is incredible and it’s a great place to sit for dinner. The food was also fantastic. Highly recommend trying out the lobster cake - it was amazing. I also had the blueberry salad with haddock and the dressing was so good!! We were here on a colder night and it wasn’t ideal sitting by the water but still beautiful. They would benefit from some warmers when the weather is cold. Our waiter also was not super friendly and seemed unhappy to be there in general. Overall good dinner but would recommend their servers be a little more friendly and spirited to make the experience more enjoyable
Terrace Grille has a really nice setting on the water. There isn't a bad seat on the patio to enjoy the boats and sunset. We had quite a few food options on the menu, but the lobster bake was the best bang for your buck. Chowder, mussels/clams, full 1.5lb lobster, and blueberry pie for $65. Our waitress was great with the timing of each course. Nice spot for dinner and drinks
Not sure why this isn't rated higher.
Amazing views, beautiful patio, and our food was delish! I regretted not getting the seafood grits that my husband got. My haddock sandwich was okay, but the roasted potatoes were SO good.
Always recommend having at least one sunset dinner at the Terrace Grille! Always a memorable evening on my trips to Bar Harbor. Great service here and beautiful views. The food is fantastic. Highly recommend the Lobster Cavatelli!
I have to amend my review from previous years. We have been coming to Bar Harbor for 3 years now and the Terrace Grille is one of our favorites. The atmosphere is the best since it is right on the water, the food is great, service is excellent and prices are reasonable when you put them in the context of Bar Harbor in the summer. You should definitely give it a try.
Food and service were good but inflation is taking its toll.
It was a busy Monday after lunch but our server, Kim, was just awesome! We were impressed with her service despite the busy afternoon. The food did take a while but it was understandable. The lobster roll was very generous from someone coming from the midwest. The short rib was phenomenal, very flavorful but the portion was smaller than anticipated. Our favorite part was the dessert. We definitely had to ask Kim since there were too many choices, she told us to try her personal fave Berry trifle and the popular open faced ice cream. She did not disappoint, they were all so good, especially the trifle, a must try for everyone!
We had a wonderful mid-afternoon lunch at the Terrace Grille. Perfect setting, great service and really delicious food. The Lobster Cobb salad was loaded with lobster meat (all claw). The charcuterie platter had a wide range of items and the Blueberry Salad’s blueberries and toasted almonds were a lovely match.
We had an absolutely great lobster bake dinner here overlooking the harbor, and watched an amazing sunset!
The lobster bake dinner included clam chowder (or a salad), over a dozen steamed mussels and clams, a large lobster, potatoes, baked asparagus, corn on the cob, lots of butter, and a piece of local blueberry pie for dessert. At $50, it’s the absolute BEST deal for a lobster bake with a view in Bar Harbor.
The seafood was absolutely fresh out of the water, and delicious!
This is a popular place for a sunset dinner, and they don’t take reservations, so try to arrive a little early and maybe expect to wait a little on weekends or at their peak times.
The menu is great, with many options that will suit others that aren’t too excited about seafood.
They had a great selection of tap or bottled beer with many local brews, and a good wine and drinks list.
I only rated it 4 stars because the service was slow, and they seemed understaffed. We had a very thoughtful and friendly waitress, but she just had too many tables.
We would definitely recommend this place in Bar Harbor, and will most definitely go here for dinner again!
