The Avenue Bakery has the most scrumptious baked goods in Baltimore. My favorite dessert is the apple cobbler in addition to the chocolate iced layer cake and the pound cake.
The hospitality is so warm and welcoming. Kudos to the gracious ladies Ms Susie and Ms Brenda. They have the patience of Job when serving the long lines of customers, who are trying to decide what they want to order besides the Poppay rolls. Hard working Mr. James is diligent and a gentleman.
The AB is a clean and also interesting place to visit. I highly recommend the Bakery for your baked goods.
The best yeast rolls in town. Thanks for helping the community remember its past.
Fantastic cinnamon rolls and Poppys dinner rolls! Great displays about the neighborhood's history and the heritage walking trail are inside, as well.
I got the peacan pie and sweet potato pie. Both were AMAZING (like fighting with my household over who ate the last peice good). They have lots of parking and the staff is very helpful. Their prices are affordable too.
I found this establishment earlier this year in February searching for sweet potato pie. When I arrived, I was curious about he mural in the parking lot. I’m not a local, but wondered who was who. I went inside and saw the History lesson continued. What I like about this place is, the black history memorial is plus to the great baked goods. I purchased a few things my first trip; pie, cake, and the rolls(this man ordered like 3 packs so I had to try them). What I enjoyed about the sweet postage pie and coconut cake is they weren’t overly sweet. The cakes, I had another one, were. During my most recent visit, the same great flavor. I appreciate the prices being reasonable. I’m able to take some bake to CT for my family and coworkers to enjoy.
This is a local gem. The lemon pound cake is like my Granny used to make!. An entire pound cake is less than 10$. The snickerdoodle cookies were so wafer crisp and light , fabulous. The staff is so friendly and helpful.
Homemade and delicious!! Ms. Belinda and her son Brandon were extremely patient with me and my mom. We ended up leaving with 2 bags full of homemade sweets. Don't forget to pick up some rolls for dinner.
I came to this establishment today and was pleasantly surprised. The rolls were delicious. They were light and buttery and still warm when I got them. These are dinner rolls that would be great with everything. The staff was friendly and the bakery looked super clean. I also appreciate the Black history they had posted.
The absolute best cake, cookies, pies and all I've tasted in decades. If you don't have your grandmother or great grandmother around to bake for you, this is where you should go. You will not be disappointed. I'm not even in a relationship and I want them to bake my wedding cake... Lol.
Entertainment, atmosphere and food was great. Rosa, the organizer for the event, was very friendly and welcoming. A glass of wine would have topped off my evening but I still had a wonderful time. Loved it.
Black History live and in person! Not only is the bakery all of the feels, the History included with your visit is WELL worth the trip. The family is very kind and you can tell the baked goods are packed with L♡VE! I'll definitely return and recommend that everyone visit!!
Great customer service and taste pastry.
