The gentleman who runs this awesome joint (I did not catch his name) alone is enough reason to not only try it, but come back whenever you're in the area. Great personality serving awesome dogs and sausages. Finally went myself for the first time and the HD Siganature is amazing, so is the baguette it is served in. Not your typical fixings either, another reason this little place so great.
Bought two so I could have one at work over night.
Awesome food. The guy running the place is so kind. Today I took my 2 son's and a friend of theirs, but I forgot my cash. I told the kids we'd have to come back because I didn't have any cash. The owner said he could never turn away hungry kids and for me to settle up with him next time. So we ordered and ate our amazing dogs. 1 adult and 3 picky kids were absolutely blown away by the food. Then I went over to the royal farms and got out money to pay.
Cheap Lunch option. The Haute Dog carte is pretty awesome! great selection of hotdogs and as a person that isn't a big fan of bread...I may say, their bun is awesome. It houses the hot dog and fixings perfectly. A definite must try!
Love this place. The lines can be long, but well worth the wait. All of the specials are amazing and at time surprisingly so. The Maryland crab dog is an old bay sausage with crab dip, which sounds like it might be a bit much, but I was surprised to find it to be outstanding. Also, if they happen to be handing out pickles, do yourself a favor and take a sample; one of the better pickles that I have had.
Amazing. I'm so happy I now work just a few minutes away from this place. With a handful of decent/good lunch options around the Falls and Lake intersection, I constantly find myself back at the Carte. I've recently started branching out from getting the HD Signature every time and I've gotta say that the various Chef's daily dogs have not disappointed!
On a side note, the owner seems like a really cool guy and I'm glad his business is doing well!
$5 and totally worth it! The dogs are huge and served in a huge hollowed out roll. It's a little too much bread for me but the dogs are juicy and savory and come with a variety of delicious toppings. YUM!
Gotta love it...inspite. I love the idea of this place. Every dog is about five bucks, which to the purist is steep, but it's a reasonable value considering these are not the average hot dog. The cheffy dog I got actually was a terrible choice, but I still want this guy to do well. The place next door, where I went to pair my dog with a coffee, was sad and depressing.
Best Ever!. Seriously, best hot dogs in the country! Daniel has made my wife and I regulars thanks to his delicious variety and fantastic ingredients. Do yourself a favor and enjoy one today. And after you're done, run next door to Bonjour for a good cup of coffee and a pastry.
Utterly drool-worthy.. ...the lovingly prepared bacon & mustard relish, the salty dawgs, the perfect soft roll with a slightly toothy crust. I don't even LIKE hot dogs. But I love Haute Dog. This guy has elevated the humble weeny to another level entirely. And the buns are clever: the roll entirely contains the dog except for one open end, so they're like pigs-in-a-blanket. mmmmmmm....
This rocks.. We finally got to an evening hour of Haute Dog and had the BEST time. The whole thing is a great (and different)urban experience from a regular night in a restaurant. The owner is happy, his product is fabulous and everyone around us was equally happy - what's not to love... This being our first visit, we stuck to the all beef, Angus dog with the awesome tomato onion jam. The thing to do is let Daniel tell you what goes with what - he knows what works - trust him. The dog was sublime - crispy on the outside and perfectly measured taste on the inside… we thought it was perfect (and a plus that it was high quality, no hormones or antibiotics, beef). The collaboration with Bonjour is wonderful. We had both dogs and a lovely spinach crepe on wonderful vintage mirrored tables and brought our own bottle of French wine. Needless to say, we look forward to next month and next summer when we can sit outside on the sweet little seating bar at Bonjour (evening hours on the 3rd or 4th Thursday of each month - email, FB or Twitter for schedule). Long live this tiny little neighborhood GEM.
Delicious! I had the HD Signature dog with the tomato and onion jam, with bacon and onion relish. I'm from Chicago, so I know a thing or to about hot dogs, and this is by far the best hot dog in B-More!
Outdoor Dogs. The Haute Dog is an all around great experience that I would recommend. The place is just a well decorated garage converted to a hot dog cart. There is a variety of dog choices that all seem to be great. Plus there are freshly prepared condiments. The bun warmer/grill ensures the buns are warm and hold the condiments. It's all very unique and tasty.
This place is outstanding. The best gourmet got dog I have ever had. Juicy all beef quarter pounder. Toppings are delightful.
Get the chef dog. Today was the Q - pork BBQ, apple slaw. It was amazing.
The signature was great. Amazing contrast of flavors between the sweet bacon jam, spicy Dijon mustard and tomato relish.
Great place for hot dogs.
Awesome, fresh toppings.
The hot dogs are 1/4 lb., delicious.
Best part is the bun.
Solid sub roll, no cuts.
Hole drilled at time of ordering, toppings spread inside the "hole", then the hot dog is slid into the "hole".
A great way to serve dogs, no drips, no mess!
Seriously the best wieners in town. Once you've had a haute dog, you never want a regular hot dog again! Daniel is super cool and will make sure you're stuffed properly. I recommend starting with the signature HD! Make sure you check what the chef special is!
Seriously amazing hot dogs. I never thought of dogs as being "gourmet," but that's exactly what these are. Excellent quality ingredients and great combinations. And I love tat there's always something creative and new on the menu.
To put it simply these are the best damn hot dogs I have ever had. I recently had my first Haute Dog and have been a returning customer ever since. Their bacon relish is phenomenal... That beings said I am going to go there now!
Best hot dog I have ever had. Ever. Stopped by after walking the dog due to all the positive google ratings. They aren't lying, it was delicious. Thus far I've only gotten the signature dog, but wow! Cash only. Please stop here if you're hungry and they're open!
Was in Baltimore for the day. Googled hot dog stands and this place came up. Stopped by and I am so very glad I did. The signature dog was incredible and the service was great. I got a sausage to go and 2 hours later and cold it was awesome. I laughed and I enjoyed the service. Will definitely go again next time I'm in town.
Best hot dogs in Baltimore. Huge and delicious. It should be a must try place. You will never be disappointed. Plus, you can't beat those prices in Falls Rd
Delicious hot dog with unique touches that will definitely make me come back. Also it was a great deal for a filling meal. We took our lunch to nearby Robert E. Lee park to have lunch! Wonderful experience and can't wait to go back
Absolutley wonderful good, and the owner, Daniel, is a very generous man. They keep waste down by serving pups the left overs from previous days, and my pooch loves them! I've been coming here for years and have NEVER been let down.
