LOVED!!!!! If you love books you should check this one out. Several floors of books and gifts. Really cool reading areas. Starbucks on the second floor. Clean bathrooms. The inside is really cool. They used some of the power plant as part of the theme and decor. Its fascinating. Prices are normal. I could have spent hours in here.
Oh my gosh. This place was such a blast for me as a reader. The first floor has magazines and journals and some books. And the second floor is an explosion of certain books and young adult. I honestly spent most of my time in the young adult section becaUse I’m a young adult. But the person who checked us out was super nice and convinced me to get a membership since I go to Barnes and Noble so often. I definitely love it here!
This has got to be the most interesting Barnes and Noble I’ve ever visited! Amazing use of architecture to build around a factory that was originally there.
If your anywhere near the inner harbor area of Baltimore you need to make this a stop.
Great aquarium for watching brightly colored fish of various sizes - of course it’s nothing compared to the “real” aquarium close by. But for a book store it’s cool. There is just a wonderful atmosphere inside. Of course you can get your coffee, pastry, and a good old fashioned book to read too.
I was very impressed and the staff were kind and helpful. Go, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
You won't find a more impressive Barnes n Noble. Imposing, with a robust selection of books, merchandise and food/beverages. The views are second to none both inside and out this seemingly converted powerplant. The inside has massive cylinders and brick wall accents enhancing the visual experience. From the second floor deck are breath-taking views of the Harbor and downtown. Top notch spot for photos and relaxing. One knock - it takes FOREVER to get your coffee beverage so be prepared for the wait. The Inner Harbor is Baltimore's Kingdom and this Barnes n Noble is the Castle - Happy viewing.
It's over of the best I've visited. It's in the old power plant and had some amazing views. I love how the escalator mechanics are exposed (in keeping with the industrial theme). You'll find a home selection of books and gifts for everyone.
Fantastic location. Great selection of books, games, magazines, accessories, etc. Friendly but unobtrusive staff. Helpful customers full of excellent suggestions. But my favorite part that really set this store apart from other full bookstores was the amazing and unique architecture. I really enjoyed the brick pillars throughout, the interesting little nooks (heh), and the see through escalators made to look like train tracks.
Neat bookstore located in a former power plant building. You can see remnants of that power plant inside. Huge floor space and lots of interesting titles, including souvenir books on Maryland. We also stumbled upon a few great finds sold at bargain prices. There is a Starbucks on-site.
Some issues: Restrooms can be tidier and the service speedier. There was only one cashier at checkout and we waited in line for 20 minutes.
I think this place should be the most iconic place in Baltimore. I heard that it was a coal power plant and Barnes & Noble renovated the building. You can see the huge smokestack inside the building. On the second floor, there is a small cafe and tables on the balcony.
Beautiful, good old fashioned bookstore, like they used to have everywhere in the old days. It was so nice to see one still open. This one is a must see, inside is very interesting and the selection is huge. Books, magazines, CDs, games of all kinds. You can also take in the views from the second floor balcony next to the coffee shop inside.

This place was heaven. I love to read so I could have probably lived there. It was at least 3 to 4 stories high with escalators going up and down. There is also elevator. I was told it used to be an old factory.
