Last night we celebrated my friends birthday and had sampled quite a few items on the menu. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! The ravioli simply melts in your mouth! Kale salad was the best I've ever had!! I don't think I've ever had a better prepared cauliflower or sweet potato! I was also pleased to learn that many items on the menu are locally sourced and all pasta and pizza dough, as well as ricotta and fresh mozzarella are made from scratch in house! It's small and charming, just perfect!! Love it!!
Easy-going atmosphere but the food and libations are serious! Great cocktails and plates to start the meal. Best raviolis I have ever had, worth going here just for them. A new addition to my top 3 in Baltimore.
Hersh’s is a great date night restaurant in South Baltimore serving up Italian style dishes in a cozy and intimate environment. My wife and I went here on a double date with close friends and we had a fantastic time. All of the food is homemade and tastes amazing. The staff was so friendly and hard working. Our friends held their rehearsal dinner here a few months back and the Manager surprised us with an extra appetizer as a thank you which is a testament to their service and overall business.
Such a cute place in Federal Hill. All the way at the end of Light St intersecting with E Wells St. Outdoor seating was great, our waitress Shelly was awesome, and the manager was great. We had a variety of dishes that everyone loved. A favorite was the salmon and caesar salad. This was the best caesar salad I've ever had. We split it between 5 of us, so it's a pretty big portion. The flavors in each dish were so distinct. I had the salsiccia pizza and the apple cake with brown sugar ice cream. It was amazing. Street parking in the neighborhood.
Amazing food. The developed flavors of the menu items were a very pleasant surprise. The staff were very congenial and attentive. The house made pasta alone made the visit great. A hidden gem in Baltimore, for sure. We will be back often. Kudos to the chef!
EVERYTHING about Hersh’s clicks with my DNA 🧬
Deep into Federal Hill sits this inconspicuous little Mediterranean restaurant, with BIG WORLD CLASS FLAVORS!
Check it…
Wood Fired Octopus 🐙 nestled near a mountain of crispy chickpeas, almond romesco, lemon, and smoked salt… not kosher but deserves a בְּרָכָה anyway!
Wood Fired Asparagus drenched in lemon aioli, crunchy garlic mix.
Wood Fired Shrimp 🦐 in arugula salsa verde. (Order their homemade bread to go with, this verde deserves it!)
Crème Brûlée that will have your eyes rolling to the back of your head… 👀
Delightful cocktails, simple happy hour menu, friendly atmosphere, down to earth and comfortable. Can’t wait to return with our foodie tribe and hit that outdoor patio space!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore. I’ve celebrated countless occasions here. Birthday’s, Anniversary’s, promotions, etc. They have absolutely excellent Italian food and are always updating the menu with new drinks and food items to try. I’ve never been disappointed trying something new here.
Why aren't you eating here right now??? Tons of ingredients are local. Most everything is homemade. The pizza had some of the best pizza dough I've ever tasted. The house made ricotta in the ravioli was so light and fluffy it was one of the best stuffed pasta's I've ever eaten. The cocktail program is on point. There were lots of original pairings and flavors. I know it isn't in the most convenient place. Get down there! If you're in from out of town it is worth the trip.
Food was good and well priced. The staff was amazing. I would say my 4 star rating comes from them calling themselves the best. If you are going to call yourself an Italian restaurant then you need to have bread on the table. Worth a trip if you are looking for good food at a good price.
Hersh’s is a ten every day of the week. All of the food and drinks always knock it out of the park. Happy hour is bogo beers and wine which is a steal. Whichever focaccia is on the menu is a must for me. And I’m a huge fan of the Fumo e fuco pizza, and my fiancé always goes for the kale and pistachio pie.
The pastas and other small plates are always very good too and I always save room for dessert
My new favorite pizza in Baltimore. The kale pistachio pizza was delicious. I can't wait to try the rest of the pizzas. I had apple pie with brown sugar ice cream for dessert and WOW! Just wish they had delivery, but definitely going back.
Kale Salad, Carbonara, with a white and a red followed by the Tiramasu and a Manhattan is a full night of gastro entertainment... And it's consistently wonderful every time.
A lot of people dig their pizza and cocktails as well.
