Very friendly service. They played nice music, had tables to sit down. My order was ready quicklyand he brought it to my car. . The food is amazing. He was being so modest when talking about their food. I had the Brisket, smoked Mac and Cheese, Collard greens. Yum

Hands down to the best brisket!!!.
We had try pretty much every BBQ place around Austin, even the 3 h wait in Taylor and every time is meh!
But Down South Texas BBQ was a surprise, we got the sampler, not a fan of the ribs but everything else was expectacular

After reading reviews I had to try last week and I was not disappointed. We got a half pound each of baby back ribs, chopped bbq, and brisket plus 2 containers of the collards. All the meat was great though the brisket was a tiny bit saltier than I like on the yummy charred pieces but I’ve cut way back on my salt since a TIA in Jan. My husband thought it was excellent. But now listen to this 79yr old: get some collards!!! Yes, they cost $4 for a small container but they are organic and out of this world perfection. You know someone from the south cooked these babies: meat flavor and just the right bit of kick. I’d buy by the quart if I could!

After searching for some good barbecue I found Down South Texas BBQ online. I decided to give them a try today, and I must say I was impressed. Great service and the ribs were so tender and flavorful!!! The sides were amazing too! I will definitely be back!!

Great brisket, and their Mac n cheese..whoa. I love this bbq joint. I always get the 2 meat plate. Comes with 2 sides. 5 stars!!

Great BBQ!! We grabbed it to go. Service was fast and friendly. Sandwiches come with a side. Potato salad is creamy and delish.

Been wanting to try and had menu on fridge. THE HOT DAWG was delicious, spicy hot link with brisket brisket queso yummmy! The mac and queso sandwich was good too. BRISKET WAS SO WELL COOKED JUICY AND SOFT.. I WILL GO BACK TO TRY EVERYTHING ELSE!!

Asked clearly for a 1/2 lb of lean brisket...
Got 1/4 lb PURE FAT!

Not what I paid for.
I have come here many times, but today's visit was the worst, and I did not get what I paid for.
I expect the owner to get in touch with me and offer a full refund.
