Papalote Taco House

We came by for lunch and really enjoyed it! The person at the counter was incredibly friendly, answering all of our questions about the menu. It was especially nice that since we weren’t familiar with the corn specialties, she not only described each of them, but also even brought out the tlacoyos, huaraches, and sope bases to visually show us what they were. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! The soft corn tacos were great, as was the tostadas de ceviche. We also enjoyed trying the cachete and lengua meats, based on the staff’s recommendation. The red and green salsa went well with the food too.

The girl behind the counter must have been new, tried asking for suggestions since it was our first time, her responses were short and uncertain. There was no one in the restaurant at the time either. Aside from service, the food was not too bad, I wish I/we knew what was what - no marks or labels on the foil wrappers. It was a bit pricey for 3 tacos and a drink ~$18. Food was salty.

This little taco spot is amazing. Coming from someone who was born and raised here in Austin, I can say that this place feels like Austin. The food is delicious and refreshing! I ordered breakfast tacos and it was incredibly rich in flavor with just egg, jalapeno, avocado and a little salsa. The service was phenomenal, we had a very polite server who answered all questions. Feels like a great mom and pop place which I love. For those who go to Crux to climb, do yoga or workout, this is a great place for a quick bite before going home! 5/5 stars, well earned.
