Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen

I was pleasantly surprised at receiving better than average service and food at this Popeye's. I stopped in for dinner and wanted the Popcorn Shrimp Combo Dinner. I asked the nice woman taking my order if they'd be making the shrimp fresh because if the shrimp are sitting under the heat lamp, they're usually a soggy mess. She said absolutely. When she called me for my order a few minutes later she smiled and said "made fresh for you". It was obvious she was interested in doing a good job and pleasing her customers. The popcorn shrimp were piping hot and tasty. The quarter pound portion was huge (I couldn't quite finish it). This pleasant woman gave me a nice smile as we left and wished me a good evening. The restaurant was also much cleaner than a most fast food restaurants I've been to. I don't eat at Popeye's that often but l will come back to this one.

If you've been to a Popeyes, you already know what to expect. The food isn't going to be on anyone's list of healthy choices. That said, their chicken is really good. Their chicken sandwich is even better. We particularly like the spicy version of both the fried chicken and sandwich. The sides are good as well. We like the red beans and rice and the seasoned fries. The biscuits are just okay. They are dense but taste alright. The best fast food apple pie. I said it. If you've never tried Popeyes fried apple pie, do yourself a favor and try it.
