We came from Houston to try the spicy lamb noodles, so worth it. The flaky crispy scallion pancakes were delicious, we combined it with the lamb skewers. It was the best combo. Totally recommend visiting this local authentic place.

Chen's Noodle House (陳記麵館) might not have elaborated decorations inside or out, but provides that familiar dining experience that I had in either China or Taiwan. We ordered the Beef noodle soup, spicy dumpling soup and cold pork (appetizers). All dishes had unique but familiar tastes of back home cooking; the portion size generous and the price was very reasonable. I am more than happy to have "discovered" this place and will definitely be revisiting to try other dishes.

I've eaten at Chen's for years now (since 2006), and it is always a happy experience. My wife and I used to live in the neighborhood, but live about 40 minutes away now - we don't get to eat there as much as I'd like, but it makes each visit that much more awesome. I have a couple of doctors in the area, so appointments are a great excuse to get take-out!
Dumplings! So, so good. Pretty much everything on the menu is fantastic, but the dumplings are special. The soups are great too, and I even have a one-off dish that Chen makes for me - Spicy pork soup with dumplings instead of noodles (the normal dumpling soup is beef-based). Phenomenal!
The restaurant is small and a little dingy (not dirty, just older and pleasantly worn), but don't let that dissuade you from sampling everything on the menu. As I said, dumplings! The Leek & Pork Noodle, Ma Po Tofu, and all the soups (I think he'll make everything Ma La if you want) are fantastic as well, so try everything!

Amazing food. The mala beef noodle was not over complicated. Just simply how it is, taste like homemade!

This was some delicious chinese cuisine. Idk how authentic this was since I've never been to China but this is the closest I have gotten.
Our favorite dishes were the pork sesame pockets (fatty, juicy pork within a sweet bread with soy sauce. And the dumplings which were pretty big and filled with meat. The noodles and the soup were also good, but I feel like it was a bit bland (maybe I was supposed to add soy sauce :P). The cold meat was also good but I would get that only as an appetizer next time. The lamb skewers were our least favorite since they had way too much seasoning.
The only downside to this place, like others have mentioned, is the drink options. Which is just canned sodas, bottled water, or water from a dispenser in the tiniest Styrofoam cup possible.
Overall..., I'd definitely come back but with my own drink 😂

One of the few authentic Chinese spots in town! I’m so glad this place serves actual Chinese noodles other than the American Chinese Lao mein nonsense… Very delicious noodles and highly recommend the appetizers! 😋

Chens is a good experience. Hot soup, delicious dumplings, and plentiful portions are Chens' strong suit. The menu is large and clearly visible, with bright colors and easy to pick items. The dining room is a little small, and most all of the tables were dirty. My only complaint was lack of beverages to choose from, they offer very small cups it's too hot outside for 2oz of water 💧 lol I bought the bottle water but they only had 2 left. All in all will be back to try again.

This little restaurant was a treat! This one comes about as close as you can get to being a "hole in the wall" but the food is really fantastic. Had some scallion pancakes, stuffed sesame buns and spicy noodles. The noodles had a bit of a wait, but only because everything is truly made fresh - you can see the noodles getting made in the kitchen as soon as you order! Prices were pretty reasonable, and it's a very quiet atmosphere, perfect for a calm meal in the middle of a busy day. Will definitely be back!

I've been coming here for 5 years and I have nothing but positive things to say about. The staff is friendly and the food is incredible. The dumplings are solid, same with the dumpling soup, but my go to is the beef noodle soup. If you are looking for some homemade noodles in north austin, this is the spot!

One of the better Chinese noodles houses in the Austin area. We ordered the spicy lamb noodles and the beef noodle soup and the food did not disappoint. The noodles had great texture and the broth and seasoning are on point. I know some people think the place is small and it doesn't look clean, but I think it adds to the cultural nostalgia. This kind of small noodle shop is exactly what you would see in a small town in China. I would recommend this place to anyone who wishes to try authentic Chinese noodles.
