After a lite snack at the library, I was walking east on 2nd Street when I stumbled upon She's Not Here, a venue a friend had text me about recently. Well, the old belly was signaling that the recent lite snack was not sufficient so I was coerced into entering this establishment. The outside seating looked quite cozy and inviting but I opted to go inside and sit at the bar where I would be served. My server Sophia was excellent and suggested The Hibiscus, Hibiscus Rye, Coconut Sugar and Tiki Bitters that I sipped on whilst waiting for my second lite snack of the day, the Crab Salad, Kani Kama Crab, Arugula, Picked Red Onions, Nori and Tamago Furikake which I thoroughly enjoyed. Now as I was about to leave, Sophia talked me into ordering the Matcha Tres Leches, Yellow Cake, Matcha Milk, Macadamia Nuts, and Coconut rum Whipped Cream which was to die for. I love the atmosphere of this venue and I will be back, most definitely.
I had the coffee pork with coconut rice and macaroni salad. For dessert I had the coconut cake. The pork was absolutely spectacular. I am not normally a fan of cold pasta salad, but I enjoyed the macaroni salad. I am definitely a dessert person, and this cake did not disappoint me whatsoever.only because everything else including the rice was so delicious that I did not have enough room was I able to take some of it home to my husband who loved it so much he couldn't stop thanking me for bringing him from home to try. I strongly recommend going to the restaurant "She's Not Here". I had a barrel-aged cocktail made from scotch and banana liqueur with other liquors, this cocktail was unique and delicious. It sounds like everything I tried has the descriptor delicious, that would be correct.the staff was also very friendly and helpful without being overbearing even though the crowd at the time I visited was light.
The sushi is great. The rolls are pretty good but the hand rolls are too much of a bite of seaweed for my liking.
If you can, sit at the sushi counter and have the slow serve you sushi. Great staff and an awesome experience!!
Food was very good, fish was fresh and one of the best I’ve ever had in Austin. However the place doesn’t feel like a sushi restaurant, more like a fancy bar, should have tropical small plates maybe. I don’t really get Hawaiian - tropical- sushi connection, yes there are a lot of Japanese in Hawaii but sushi is not what comes to mind when I think of Hawaii or tropical. This is a cool place for visitors but as an Austin resident, if I want to eat sushi I’ll keep going to Uchi.
She’s Not Here had me craving ultra delicious bites from their fish boxes for days. Highlights: outstanding service by one of the bartenders from the cocktail bar, and fresh ingredients. We were introduced to a new favorite cocktail, the Paper Airplane. I would like to see them make great tiki style drinks. Recommend the Galbi style pork rib, and soft shell crab hand roll. Another highlight was the sichuan salad with woodear mushrooms. This restaurant is not good for sharing plates. I would recommend ordering as a couple or individual. I definitely plan to go back soon, but with a reservation! There is a bar inside that you can hang out at while waiting. I found it odd that the hostess didn’t tell us about it. Besides a long wait and not knowing about the bar area, I would put this on the list of best new restaurants in Austin!
Great spot for sushi in downtown Austin. I always love their scallop sashimi and crab rolls, and usually indulge in their daily specials. This is the perfect spot for date night, happy hour, or girls night out!

Been here a couple times. Menu and concept has changed from a year ago. But same quality of food and service. Great spot in Downtown ATX.
We liked this place in second street district the Salmon Sushi was delicious and the banana leave pork is great.
The bartender prepares good cocktails.
She's Not Here is fantastic! I have been in Austin for 12 years and because of the nature of my business, I have eaten at 95% of the restaurants in or near downtown. The food at She's Not Here is so imaginative and delicious. Their sushi is one of a kind. Super fresh and perfectly cut. While the sushi is tremendous I was surprised at how good their pork ribs were. It's one of those dishes that you try for the first time and by the time you are finished you are already putting in a second order. Also definitely go with the crab butter, popular and rightfully so. I also really enjoyed their cocktails, different but also excellent. The service was super friendly both times I went and the decor/layout was very festive and fun. This is a place you will feel really comfortable in whether for a business dinner, with friends or on a date. I can not say enough good things about She's Not Here. They are only open for dinner but the owner told me they will be offering Bento Boxes for lunch soon, can't wait.
When we walked in all three of us made separate comments about how cool/beautiful/eclectic this place was. Everyone we spoke to was very friendly, I even got a apology for the waitress startling me by filling up my water on the sneak (kudos BTW!). The sushi tasted fresh and was delivered very promptly. The big portions of food didn't seem that big but with sushi appetizers it was enough to split and not over indulge ourselves.
Definitely recommending to our friends and for our next group dinner.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. The decor and murals in there are on point! The cocktails are fabulous, the fishbowl rhubarb cocktail is a must for groups! The small plates here are unmatched as their flavor profiles are amazing! You can taste the fresh veggies and fish. If you’re balling out see if you can get the wagyu with egg yolk grated on top. Its scrumptious!! The waiters and hosts here are always the best! Ask for Michael if you want the sweetest :).
Great spot and atmosphere. Crab stuffed sashimi was the best!
Very tasty collection of flavors. The ginger cocktail was excellent and the large plates were an adventure
Absolutely incredible sushi, sashimi, and service. I've never liked raw fish until today, but it's probably from the quality from the fish they command. It is a bit pricey, but beyond worth it for this mind blowing mix of fish and rice. And the servers were very kind to not only me, but my 6 year old as well. Highly recommended.
Food was yummy tasty with 2 veg options. But portion was too less. That's the only reason for rating 4 instead of 5.
