I loved this place. Went for the first time and its a nice chill spot with quality hot dogs and other appetizers that wont leave you feeling heavy. Also their fountain drinks are so refreshing. They also offer vegetarian options although I didn't try that. I highly recommend at least trying it out.

They've gone from trailer to restaurant and are making the transition look easy. I've always had a soft spot for the hot dog and it's great to see places like this and Frank leading its resurgence. It's hard to pick just one but bacon wrapping a hot dog is a great way to make a winner. So I'll go with the hair of the dog, which adds cheese, chili, a fried egg, and tabasco to the bacon wrapped goodness to create ~1200 calories of pleasure. It's easy to eat 2-3 hot dogs at home, right? Well don't do that here because these things are massive once they get covered in toppings. One is plenty!

No complaints here. I finally got a chance to hop over to Man Bites Dog and see what they are all about. They are all about the hot dog, but taking it up a few notches. This made the menu a bit intimidating, but ingredients are clearly defined. I settled on "Hair Of The Dog" (bacon wrapped beef frank, deep-fried with chili, cheddar cheese, a fried egg and tabasco sauce) and a side of Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese. This was a wonderful combination and a pretty decent amount of grub. The Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese was creamy and had a wonderful flavor. I could see eating this alone and being completely satisfied. The Hair of the Dog (which may sound kind of gross) was superb. It hit all of the high points in flavor before allowing the egg and tabasco sauce to take it one level higher. DO NOT try and eat this like a normal hot dog. You'll end up wearing the juices that drip down. Hunker down with a fork and knife for the best experience. Additionally, the establishment was clean and employees were very friendly and personable. The restroom was also clean, which unfortunately seems to be overlooked by far too many establishments. If you haven't tried Man Bites Dog, I highly recommend it. They have a 'Kids Eat Free' night on Tuesdays, so there is added incentive to take the whole family.

Can they make more of these places? I took several of my friends here and we were all very impressed! The hot dogs are delicious of course. A few that stood out in particular were the Half Smoke, Abe Forman, and the Banh Mi Dog. We also tried the pulled pork mac and cheese, delicious on another level.

I would suggest not eating the Cartoon Dog. This dog is an attempt to make something unique that get's people talking. The combination of Cap'n Crunch Cereal, PB & Jelly with a Hot Dog just don't work. The Bratwurst dog on the other hand is amazing! It comes on a Pretzel Bun with sauerkraut and spice brown mustard. I always order the vegetarian dog option and they are pretty good.

The combinations here are really endless. I love all the different meat choices they have past the regular dog. Definitely skip the fried sides, nothing special and rather greasy. Save your calories to try another dog! Great local eatery for "gourmet fast-food."

Great little Hot Dog place, lots of options to choose from. Anything chili cheese is delicious, the hot dogs are made to perfection. Doesn't disappoint if you are in the mood for an out of the box hot god or even just a plain jane one as well. Lot of parking and ample room to sit inside and enjoy

I'm more of a hot dog purist--so I usually just get a regular chili cheese dog with a side of cheese tots (one of the few places that I've found that side item here in the Austin area). I usually will drop by here on a weekday evening--and it's hardly ever crowded. I haven't had one bad meal here yet (that I can recall) and the it's easy to get out of here with a full meal for under $10.

Awesome Hotdogs! I love Hair of the Dog and the Abe Froman. The fried pickels with a beer are just fantastic. If you have a sweet tooth I recommend the Cartoon Dog - peanut butter, jelly, and Capt'n Crunch, it's just freaking tasty!

There are times when arugula and organic goat cheese just won't do and thats when it is time for a visit to Man Bites Dog. All types of seasoned red meats stuffed into casings then seared to prefection. Wonderful hand cut french fries. My favorite is a dog smothered in sour kraut and deli brown mustard.

I just had MBD for the first, happy time. The Beer Brat was great, a little bit too peppery for myself but I never dislike anything with sauerkraut as a rule and it was surely tasty at that. Finally I will state honestly and without elaboration that the other hotdog that I tried, the Bahn Mi Dog may possibly be the best damn dog that I have ever had. I killed it, and I recommend it. Delicious.
