Fat Cats: Organic Coffee & Desserts

When it comes to coffee and baked goods, no one does both quite as well as Fat Cats. You can tell that the baked goods are scratch made with quality ingredients and the coffee is fantastic. If you're looking for something savory, you can get delicious flaky spinach or breakfast croissants, sausage and cheese kolaches, or breakfast empanadas. If you want something sweet, their cupcakes and cake are decadent and moist and their dessert croissants are always delicious. The coffee though... that was the biggest surprise. Whether you're getting just drip coffee / espresso or a cafe con leche, latte, cold brew, it's all roasted well, made with the perfect ratios of flavor, and the cold brew even has coffee ice cubes to keep from diluting the flavor. It's hard to be anything but a regular!

This place is seriously a treat. I love that I’m not just filling up on sugar when we go for breakfast. The kolaches are great but I had the breakfast croissant and it was delicious. My husband had the green chili enchilada empanada and it was also equally tasty. Got both our littles a donut and sugar cookie (all vegan) and we were all content!

Coffee ain't bad, no complaints there. The food is not my particular choice but I suppose for what it was there is nothing to complain about. I've been here maybe a dozen times while waiting on the train and my only issue was the bathroom. That is my number one for any place I go to. If the bathrooms are good the place is typically clean and worth the price. I can't say the bathroom would impact price on a coffee but the bathroom should be upgraded a bit.

Great experience as a vegan tourist. Had lots to eat and since it was my last day in Austin, I definitely had to buy half a dozen as the ones I had in the shop were delicious. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. My personal recommendation would be the mazapan croissant. That flavor just takes it to the next level. 5/5 stars, can’t wait to visit again when I’m back in town.
