The tacos are always good. This place is awesome. I get a bacon egg potatoes and cheese breakfast taco.
I was in the area this morning and stopped in for a quick bite. The young man behind the counter suggested I try the migas and boy was he right. They were the best migas I've had since I left South Texas. Can't wait to come back and try something off the lunch menu.
My family loves this family establishment. Some of the nicest folks around. Their tacos never disappoint and ate always quick!

You step in and you know where you are; grandmas kitchen with a little bit of seating. With only 2 family seating tables, and 5/6 couple’s tables, the set up is designed mostly for take out. However, given it’s excellent location to gyms, S. Walnut Creek trail, and Ray G. Park, you’ll probably want to take your food with you regardless.
That said, it’s hard to knock this place for anything. The staff is the definition of Austin hospitality and will cater to you (even if you’re white and have dietary restrictions like myself 😂🤙). ⬅️ if you don’t understand this joke…I’m sorry…you can’t be helped.
The food quality is on par with the price, and you will enjoy what you get no doubt. If you’re familiar with authentic Mexican food items you will feel at home. And if you only know Tex-Mex, don’t worry, it’s in the name.

Great Mexican vibes + authentic food! What else do you need from a Tex-Amex restaurant? They prepared my food so fast; and it tasted great. Parking is a limited. Make sure they check their hours, as they’re not open all day.

Picked up a migas taco to go around 10 am on a Saturday; food was ready in minutes and service was very friendly. Taco was great - good tortilla and salsa, crunchy tortilla chips, lots of flavor. Nice atmosphere inside.
It's one of those places that when you walk in, you just feel that the tacos are gonna be fire. Best breakfast taco I ever had.

Good breakfast! It doesn't matter what you get. Takes a while because everything is made when you place the order. The restaurant is a little worm inside. The food was so good it was worth the wait.

GET THE CHICKEN TORTILLA SOUP!!!!! 51 degrees outside and cloudy...I thought my life was over,but then my wife pointed at this restaurant and we gave it a try. INCREDIBLE CALDO!!!! I dare say this is the best tortilla soup I've had (sorry El Paso.) I will be back for sure!! My wife had a migas taco...her life was changed in an instant! So crunchy and tasty... we were so sad when it was gone.

If you’re looking for authentic home cooked Mexican, this is the place to go. The food tastes like someone’s Grandma is cooking it in the kitchen. And the prices…so low. It reminds me of what Mexican joints used to be like in the 80’s before the big expensive chains moved onto the scene. They have a large variety for such a small place. Service was fast. The food was hot & tasty. Don’t pass by this place if you’re looking for classic Mexican. I’ll be going back for sure.

Best Mexican food in Austin hands down. Austin does good tacos, bbq, etc but there just aren’t many decent Tex mex options compared to San Antonio or Houston. Papa Joe’s may not look like much but I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and haven’t once been disappointed. Amazing sauces too.
I've seen this place for a long time and I never stopped by. I finally did and now I've gone a few times a week for a couple of months.
I absolutely love this place. It's the perfect distance for me. I'll call in my order in within 10 minutes, it will be ready. Service is fast and friendly. I really like the migas plate but I've tried many things and will continue trying everything on the menu.
Pro-tip: you can park anywhere in that plaza.

Very good food, tastes like it's made with high quality ingredients. The food is simple but that should not be held against it in the slightest as it is well made. I appreciate how attentive the staff is, although I generally prefer to be left alone during my meals. The tortilla chips are fantastic!
