I’ve been eating at one location or another of Bert’s BBQ since before I could drive, and as often as possible since. My personal favorite bbq in town, despite the many other great contenders out there. This is it. You’ve found it. Try the frito pie with a little sausage. Great family run place too, by the best people. Thanks to Jay and Kid & co. for keeping it going, and thanks to Gary & co. for years of great food as well!

Stopped on a whim at Burt’s to grab a half pound of brisket. Staff was really nice but man that was the best brisket I’ve ever had. It had great seasoning and the fat melted in my mouth. Going to make it a regular stop.

They catered the Texas Realtors Event. Great food and very nice people. They hussled to feed everyone quickly.

Kid was the one who helped me and he was very thoughtful and kind. Food is great although the vibe of the interior is a little weird.

Nothing fancy here just a little hole in the wall Texas style BBQ joint serving spectacular top-notch BBQ. The decor and friendly service reminded me of simpler times. Brisket was moist and delicious.

I have ordered several times moist brisket and pork ribs and they were excellent.
For thanksgiving I ordered brisket and a turkey.
It was outstanding!.
Family was happy and praised the food.
The service has always been cordial, and very kind. It is an excellent quality, value experience.
I recommend their establishment and hope they keep flourishing.

We stopped here on a whim because we wanted BBQ and was not disappointed! I had both the brisket sandwich then later the turkey sandwich. The brisket was the better of the two. The flavor was goldilocks: not too spicy, not too bland. I gobbled it up. It was carefully assembled and then gave me fresh onions on the side. I loved the coleslaw and the beans. This is like and old fashioned BBQ that one would go out to some picnic grounds to have.
I don't know if it is the best in Austin but it is certainly better than majors who slather on way too much sauce.
Definitely 5 stars.

Barbecue was great. Only disappointed that we are only learning of this hidden gem. They've been doing barbecue for 50 years and you can taste the experience. Social distancing and masking in place to dine in. We devoured the beef ribs, brisket and chicken. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and ended up with leftovers!
