"888" is like my culinary sanctuary! The food is a flavor fiesta – the General Tso's chicken is sweet and spicy poetry, and the veggie stir-fry? Freshness explosion! What's crazier? Every time, it's consistently mind-blowing. But it's not just the food; it's the vibe. The staff rocks! They make you feel like you're dining in a friend's kitchen. No stiff formality here – just good food and good vibes. "888" isn't just a restaurant; it's a tasty escape where every bite feels like a high-five to your taste buds!

The food here is sooooo tasty. The first time I came was in mid October. I had general Tso's tofu, tofu springrolls, and wonton soup. Everything but the wonton soup was delicious, even then the broth was very good, but the wontons had a fishiness that I think was beyond normal. The general tso's tofu was one of the best I have had of that dish. There was a lot of food, I had brought my own container to go, I had enough leftovers to eat two more times. As for the service, it is really hit or miss for me, when I walked in no one came so I wasn't sure what the protocol is here, so I went to the counter, the person who I asked about seating was not kind, and when I asked about sitting outside they told me I had to order to go. I guess those tables out there are not theirs...or something, his response about it was very harsh. I wound up sitting inside and the person who took care of my order was super sweet and attentive. I almost left after the counter experience, but I am glad I stayed. The next time I came (at the end of October) I ordered tofu and veggie pho. It was verrrrry good. The person who took care of my order was ok. I will definitely come back. I would probably be going back more if the service was kind and consistent, at this point I get anxiety about going, so it will be a while before I return. But the food is so amazing. Also, I don't know who posts the menu on behalf of their business (the one that is posted by the restaurant itself) but that must be an outdated digital file. The prices are better reflected in the paper menus that people have posted. If you're thinking of going, gooooooo. It is so good. The service will probably be great for you, it is worth the risk. There are a lot of workers, and they are just humans, we all have our days, so I try not to complain about service, but I wanted to be honest.

Went for a late lunch here and got seated immediately. Our waitress Sally is amazing. She recommended us items from the menu based on our interests and provided wonderful service throughout. We ordered Spring rolls, Steamed dumplings, Pho and Red Panang curry. Everything tasted so good and portions are huge. Would love to try more options from the menu. Will definitely be back!

I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant! The food was not only delicious, but the portion sizes were generous, which was a pleasant surprise. My favorites had to be the chicken lettuce wraps and the General Tso's chicken - they were simply amazing. But it doesn't stop there; the other dishes we tried were equally delicious. It's clear that they take pride in their culinary skills. One thing to note is that they can get quite busy during peak hours, so it's a good idea to make a reservation or plan your visit accordingly. The wait staff was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout our meal, which added to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and excellent service!

Being a regular here for almost 7 years, 888 has been a staple in rejuvenating my roots from Vietnam with authentic dishes. The wait staff are always fun to be around and I love every single one of them. The pho is to die for. This place is a “must visit” if youre in the area.

Cheap late night comfort food. Extremely popular with the locals. The food was ok, not spectacular. Staff was really nice and accommodating. The location is a bit worn out, apparently it's been here for over 30 years.

The place is excellent!!! The staff is helpful and friendly. My server Van made great suggestions. My Pho was amazing!!! Anyone visiting Austin should make this a place to stop at. The variety is steller. The price is more than fair. Restaurant ambiance is smooth and delightful. Thank you for the great dining experience!! This was my first time here, and it was suggested to me by a random woman at my hotel accommodation traveling threw to California. She said "best place in Austin ever", she was RIGHT. PS: the desert was sublime.

incredible service. Incredible food. And an absolutely insane mind-boggling value. The quality in the amount of food you get for the prices they charge makes me feel like it’s 2010. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place, easily one of my favorite restaurants ever.

Amazing 👏 Delicious food, fast service, great atmosphere, and they offer a very kid friendly service. They don't have a kids pho but we were offered extra bowls to split our kids food. They even brought out a serving spoon to make the split easier!

We were surprised this place was so crowded so close to closing time, but knew that meant the food had to be good. We were correct. My husband and I were only moderately hungry so we split a large chicken pho. It was the perfect sharing size and the broth was so rich. It had a good amount of chicken in it as well. Our friend got the green curry which I had a bite of and I would definitely try that next time. Great size portions for the price!

I love 888 so much. I’ve never had anything on the menu that wasn’t absolutely delicious. The staff is always friendly and fast. My only complaint is that it tends to get loud as they stay pretty busy. Overall I love this restaurant and wish I could go all the time. They are also very inexpensive. I always get an appetizer and a main course and the bill is shockingly low compared to other restaurants. The portions are huge and I always go home with amazing leftovers.

Loved the food! Started with the tum yum soup, which was sweet & sour perfection. I got the sizzling lemongrass chicken and my boyfriend ordered the Vietnamese style beef flank steak. Will definitely go back again!

My husband, two of our grandchildren (Eedan and Ella), our son, and I ate at 888, for my birthday. The restaurant was clean, and service was prompt. The restrooms were stocked. The orange chicken tasted amazing, as did the sugarcane steak wraps, and chicken satay. The Vietnamese iced coffee was strong and refreshing. The grilled chicken rice dish and the sweet and sour chicken were yummy. The beef chef's specialty and chicken pot were good. Recommended! Update: My husband, our son, three of our grandchildren and I ate at 888 again today. The food was yummy, especially the chicken satay, the sweet and sour chicken, and the orange chicken. The Vietnamese iced coffee rocked! The busy restaurant was clean. Service was fantastic! Recommended, again!

Ordered the pineapple fried rice with the imperial shrimp. My staple choices. I never dine in, mainly due to the high congestion of its dining floor. The atmosphere is always energetic with conversation and bustle. Service seems prompt and efficient. The food, however, is amazing!!! Period. I’ve never gotten a bad order. And they’re fast, even when ordering for large groups.

This spot hits late night dinner cravings. It is packed inside so you know it’s good when you come in on a Friday night about 10 pm and you have people waiting in line. We were told it would be 15- 20 minute wait but we honestly waited like 5 minutes before being seated. The server was great and prompt. The flavor is on point with the pho and shrimp fried rice. The beef clay pot is delicious. The beef is soft and the vegetables with it complimented the dish. The pricing point is great for the sizing portion of the food. Ended up getting to go boxes for our clay pot and fried rice.

My first impression was that they have a massive menu. If a place can nail 80% of this huge menu, it's a great one. We ordered 4 different types of food, and they were all decently good. 5 stars for service. The restaurant and its people are simple, no frills. I came on a Friday evening. The place was packed but everything moved so quickly. The servers, and the manager (I assumed), were all attentive. They anticipated our needs and catered well -- constantly checking if we liked the food, asking if we wanted to share the soup bowl to bring an extra bowl and a LADLE (first time anyone gave that to me ever -- made sharing soup so easy). Will definitely come back.

We wanted Asian cuisine for dinner and this place wasn't too far from our hotel. We Uber'd over and found a mess of folks waiting on porch...a good sign! We got our name on the list and they handed us one of those electronic alert things. It alerted, we were seated and we had menus and water immediately. We started with the chicken wing appetizer...yummy (and sticky). 'A' ordered a green curry dish and I got a Thai basil stir fry. Both were delicious and the portions large enough that we needed to-go boxes. We will go back on future visits to ATX!
