This is a true authentic place to come get 💯 mexican food like your grandmother from Mexico is home cooking for you 😋 a bit pricey but it's DEFINITELY worth every penny . Definitely try the chorizo queso it's so addictive I swear , and the Carne guisada is the best I've ever had ( besides my tias 😊 shhhh) lol it's amazing food and the lady is so so sweet and welcoming. We came in 20 mins before they were closing and didn't know bc the hours online said 6 pm but it was 2 pm and hours hadn't been fixed at the time. She welcomed us either way and Sat us down and was so attentive and sweet. We talked like we've known her for years it's truly like going to Mexico and being with gma or family

Cocina de Consuelo is a little gem hidden among all the business of Burnet. It’s a small family-owned business with great Mexican food. They have a solid menu of the highlights you want in a small family restaurant. You can expect maximum of 8 tables inside with most fitting 2 people comfortably.
Came for breakfast and had their chilaquiles - served with potatoes, beans and house made tortillas. It was all really tasty and the service was great. The young gal that served me was very sweet and checked in on me.
Prices here are very reasonable and the atmosphere is welcoming with relaxing Mexican music playing in the background.

This place is good for small groups, I only saw 2 tables for 6 people.
I order tortilla soup and was delicious, The waiter was friendly.
Chips could be better.

Great little place that you could easily miss driving down the road. Only about 20 people max can fit so get there early.
I think the salsa was watery but the flavor was fine. Queso was awesome! Not a huge fan of adobe Chile sauce on my enchiladas but it's just not my favorite flavor. They made it correctly.
Staff was great making sure me and a date had everything we needed. The place lacks central a/c and uses ceiling fans but still felt hot inside on a 100 degree day. Ambience of decorations inside was great!

The story of this lovely restaurant, La Cocina de Consuelo, is told in beautiful detail on their website, and today I had the opportunity to talk with Mahali, who told me about her Tia Letty and Tia Connie.
"Tia Connie (Rodriguez) founded the restaurant in 2006, and in 2019 she started passing it over to Tia Letty (Garcia).
Tia Letty passed away this past February in 2023 so it's just us now. We try to keep the recipes the same to carry on her traditions."
The food is excellent, and the hand made tortillas, sheer perfection. Come for the breakfast burrito, and return for the lunch special -- don't miss the mango and jicama salad -- and take some tortillas and salsa home so you don't have to wait till your next visit!
And as for her legacy, Tia Connie would be proud, for sure.

It’s a nice small restaurant. The front part is for a few parties of 2/3 people. The back/side seats two tables of 6 each max. The back small patio seats two. The food was great, it reminds me of Mexican/Mexico home cooking! My only complaint would be the chips served with the salsa. The chips were not good at all I did not care for them, they tasted almost stale. The service was excellent our server was very nice & attentive, she had black framed glasses a younger woman (didn’t catch her name). My kids ate all their food which is surprising because they are very picky about their food if it doesn’t taste good they won’t eat it. Overall when in town we would come back.

Authentic just like grandma's cooking. Great ambiance! And FRESH lemonade! Get there early, or you'll wait for a table. 5 stars!

This was a lovely experience; the owner is so friendly (although the counter person was rather abrasive), and the food was homestyle. We enjoyed it very much!
