We found this place by accident, and we loved it! Great little patio area, and he food was amazing!
If you haven't eaten at Fricanos Deli, you have missed a great Austin adventure. Not only is the food great, so are the owners and staff. You won't be disappoint.
Honestly one of the best sandwich shops in Austin! Start with any of Fricano’s Favorites. The Ainsworth is ALWAYS a tasty surprise if your not in a mood to pick. I have not had a bad sandwich here.
One of the best Rubens (spicy version) I’ve ever had. Fantastic bread, and loved the red onion and Pepperoncini for a little extra pizazz. The home made dressing was kick ass as well. Overall great would try again any day for a nice lunch in this neck of the woods.
Went here for a reuben and was not disappointed. Venue is very lived in, and caters to the student population nicely, but I can't fault their corned beef classic reuben.
Fantastic. I had the Tuna Melt and Tomato Basil soup. Excellent. Service was great. Friendly cashier and when he asked my choice of cheese and bread, I got recommendations from one of the kitchen guys and went with them. Much appreciated. Food was delivered to my table fresh, warm toasted bread and the soup was hot. Overall great experience. Will definitely return and recommend to all my friends.
Great deli with a fun crowd. Best Cajun turkey I've ever had. Plus, the half sandwich and soup combo is a solid deal. I've been coming once a week as of late. The rye gets a bit too tough after cooling, but the sandwich is otherwise perfect when toasted. I could recommend just about anything.
Very good deli sandwiches. Unique choices. Beware, a “half” is pretty large.
Great deli sandwiches. They are a pretty good size. The all meat sandwich is huge. Can hardly fit in my mouth to take a bite. Bread is extra crispy if you get it grilled. Can scrape the roof of your mouth if you are not careful, but that's the fun of it. Enjoy the sandwich.
My friend piked this place for lunch while I had training downtown. It is a quick drive from downtown and there is a parking lot out front that you should be able to find some parking spots. The line moves pretty quickly as well. There is a good selection of things to choose form and you can make it a combo with a half sandwich and a side. I choose to make it a combo, my friend did not and the full sandwich is huge you wouldn't need a side with it. I got the soup and it was pretty good very hot (temperature wise) though, which is good. The food is brought out to your number and there are plenty of seating spots inside and I believe there are some spots outside, but it was the middle of a Texas summer day so we opted out of outside seating. The food arrived fairly shortly. I got the cajun turkey sandwich and it was very good and filling. You can't beat the price for that amount of food on and near campus. I would highly recommend this place for lunch to those around and near the UT area.
The sandwiches from this place are AMAZING!! Along with being a LARGE serving size, the sandwiches are so tasty and they take their time making it, so it is a fresh sandwich, if you want your sandwich fast, call ahead to have it picked up. Their breads are fresh as well and the nostalgic atmosphere with vintage toys and magazine clippings, and posters is fun!
My second favorite sandwich shop in Austin.
I've found the staff friendly, the ingredients high quality, and the sandwiches delicious.
I think they replaced a Quiznos in the West Campus location they are in now, and it's quite an improvement. I think of Fricano's as the opposite of a chain restaurant. They may have another location, but I'm pretty sure they closed the one on Speedway (the one I've been to more) when they moved.
Overall, a very good sandwich shop.
