So F8 may just about be the best coffee shop in Austin, the owner is just as skilled as the best at Houndstooth. F8 too has great taste sourcing coffee. The coffee shop itself has a unique atmosphere that I especially enjoy, not to mention the exceptionally friendly staff. Other than Houndstooth only Cafe Medici even compares. I kinda hate these coffee shops for setting the bar too high, forcing me to walk miles to find good coffee when I travel. Only a few places in portland, nyc, and sfo have satisfied me more.
Great space, vibes, people and coffee! I definitely recommend checking out Figure 8, you won't be disapointed :)
Great atmosphere and great coffee! The cortado and drip were both really good. They are serving some quality coffee - both espresso and regular. You’re in for a good sip no matter what you order! Not sure I’d come here to study or do work, but it’s a great spot to meet a friend!
The coffee is really good, I recommend getting the vanilla latte and chocolate torte. I didn't get the chocolate torte since I think they only have it Mondays. Lemon cake is just okay, kinda dry
Expertly roasted coffee, brewed to perfection by chill baristas who have the best playlist in town. Ideal spot for hanging out or working. Definitely my fave coffee shop in town - I feel so comfortable here too.
This place was highly regarded and somewhere that I was told I had to try. As a lifelong Californian, I was skeptical at first but after the worker informed me that they only use single origin coffee beans, I knew that this place was legit. I ordered a flat white and a vanilla latte, both of which were made very well and the flavor was very smooth. The staff are all super helpful and friendly and there’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The vibes are chill too, the music isn’t unnecessarily loud and everyone is very kind and respectful. Additionally, I brought my laptop and was working for several hours without any issues (they have free WiFi too). Overall, I’m very pleased with this coffee shop and I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the area. And for what it’s worth, this spot is better than a lot of the coffee shops I’ve been to all over California. Well done, Figure 8!
This was excellent coffee. The espresso was grade A. They didn’t do pour overs but the drip was excellent too. Grade A drip. Go here to drink coffee in Austin. Don’t waste your time going other places.
The word, purveyors, followed by the word, coffee, drew me here. Having tried Ethiopian and Kenyan somewhere else before and not liking it, I was a bit hesitant to get those drips. But boy, was I wrong. Just one sip and I was happy. The taste, the aroma was just wonderful. Roasting, grinding and brewing. Made so much difference. Please do visit this boutique coffee shop. You will love it.
Classic coffee cafe, one of those you see in that movie where you want to have coffee at. Ice coffee was very delicious and both pastries are worth visiting to eat. The cafe is laid back, the barista is very friendly.
Very cute place with limited inside setting. They grind their own beans as you can see in the video. They do have free WiFi and outdoor seating!
Value - fair
Ambiance - it’s a small sitting area
Service - helpful and very fast service but it’s not a sit down service
Taste - good and very fresh
Overall - I recommend ♥️
Perfectly roasted to bring out the coffee's subtle notes! The deep berry notes in the Ethiopian drip coffee were so wonderful!
The shop is small, but there was no line on a busy Saturday afternoon! And you can see the roaster in the next room.
They also serve wine.
Recommend!
Really enjoyed the ambiance and location of this shop! I didn’t like their Peruvian drip, so that’s why I’m giving it a 4 star. However, I definitely would be willing to come back and try their espresso drinks
