El Chilito

One of the best taco joints in town. I live close to this place so I walk here almost every week. In my opinion, the Charlie’s special on the breakfast menu is the best. I love getting the shrimp Del Mar and chicken tinga tacos from the menu and the burrito portions are huge at a really great price! They serve some pretty delicious coffee and horchata. Overall this is a great local place with some good prices!

Consistently some of the best tacos at the best price, but what really brings me back are their thick tostadas and salsa. Friendly staff, good weekly deals, and plenty of outside seating. If you want quick, tasty tacos with a variety of options, this is absolutely the first place I'm going to recommend to anyone who asks.

Really authentic and super fresh tacos! Stayed in an airbnb right down the street while visiting Austin and got the breakfast tacos almost everyday for breakfast! Outdoor seating and water cups available! They also have great cold brewed coffee! Definitely recommend stopping here if your in the area you will not regret it!!

Ordered pickup from the website (sorry the pictures aren't the best cuz they are a little squished in the bag) overall super decent tacos! I love Charlie's special and cochinita pibil taco. Really nicely flavored and even better with the salsa. Barbacoa taco is also pretty good, the beef is super tender. The seasoning(salt) is on the lighter side, which makes it a perfect platform to make the salsa shine. The salsa is 🔥. So good. The migas taco is on the bland side, but the salsa saves it. I enjoyed my meal and would definitely come back to try more.

I honestly enjoy this place. The food is good every time. The staff is kind. But I would say check your food if you’re doing takeout. This is the third time I got the wrong order. Either they’re moving too fast back there or not listening at all. I don’t even go when it’s busy so it isn’t that. Checking each taco isn’t fun either. Especially with diet restrictions. But overall, the food is good.
